I worked at Macy's part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Discounts and knowing when to use them Great co-worker culture Easy applying, hiring, training process

    Cons

Scheduling system Standing for long periods of time Pushing credit cards

    Advice to Management

Stop bending over backwards for unworthy customers. Such customers take advantage of the systems store ratings and in the end loses the store money. Also if I was a customer in line behind some returning used garbage from a year ago and getting their money back I would be outraged. These people do not deserve special treatment and it is unfair to everyone else.

I worked at Macy's part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There weren’t many pros at all— terrible pay, they hire new people at a higher rate than what one could make after being there for almost four years.

    Cons

Horrible pay, horrible communication with management, attendance credit system is stupid and they do not accept doctors notes. Increase your pay to 15 an hour for what your employees have to deal with, and people might stay. They really don’t care about who you are just that there is a body on the floor, don’t cover lunches or 15 min breaks unless you call and remind them. That should be their job not yours.

    Advice to Management

    Better communication, and better scheduling.
