I have been working at Macy's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You can switch shifts and pick up shifts that may be available.

    Cons

They want you to slave for little pay even if you have a degree. You are not guaranteed full time hours even if you apply for a full time position.

    Advice to Management

When I applied I applied for full time position which means I need at least 40 hours a week or more. In 3 months I only worked 40 hours a week twice. The rest was 28-32. Then the management team is crap and don't care about their employees.

    I worked at Macy's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Kiosk was easy and manageable

    Cons

Hard to get a bathroom break, management is never around/are hateful when they are around, customers are always mad there aren't enough employees to run registers. Roaming around the store looking for service. When unavailable to work management throws temper tantrum like child.

    Advice to Management

Treat people better. Hire a better management.

    I worked at Macy's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Employee discount was nice and I worked in a mall so it was nice to be around other stores frequently, especially for breaks.

    Cons

Had to work Black Friday and pretty much all holidays for retail sales; also very sales goal driven and strict with rules/regulations for an entry level retail position. Department I worked in was also very segregated by races and this created no team dynamic; people would also steal each other's customers due to the sales goals needed.

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees more and don't watch them like a hawk; provide a more laid back atmosphere and make things more fun overall for employees.

I have been working at Macy's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible job with opportunities to get macys money.

    Cons

No support from mangers, you cannot have a voice in anything and manages will not have your back.

    Advice to Management

Stop taking your title as an opportunity to belittle your staff and try coaching and leading them in the right direction; not out the door.

    Pros

Discounts are excellent and everyone that works there is extremely friendly. Manager is friendly and extremely helpful. If you do work during the holidays it is time and a half pay

    Cons

Have to wake up extremely early. It Can be quite boring doing the same thing over and over again. Everything can be kind of tough at first. A lot to take in And since it is seasonal it can be kind of challenging to get off work for a full day during the holidays

I have been working at Macy's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work as much or as little as you want. Game card credit payout. Advancement opportunities. Great coworkers and management at my store at least.

    Cons

They're really aren't any other than pay. I feel we deserve a little more than what some of us are making and also full time people should not be required to work weekends. That's what part time and flex associates are for .

    Advice to Management

Value your Employess more and always remind them they're appreciated .
