    I worked at Macy's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Everyone in the Cincinnati office is genuinely nice, great benefits such as 15 day minimum paid vacation, 14-16 week maternity leave (8week paternity leave), and competitive pay.

    Cons

Sales keep declining and there have been tremendous layoffs throughout the past three years. Constantly worried about your job security, especially following declining holiday sales.

    I worked at Macy's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very good exposure to all aspects of a large company, travel cities are larger cities with plenty of restaurant options

    Cons

Upper Management favorites got away with everything and got promoted, while others who performed better and were more qualified got nothing.

    Advice to Management

See the skills in everyone, not just those who fit the image you want to promote.

    I worked at Macy's full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good work/family balance
Company discount is good, though average for retail.
    Good place to learn.

    Cons

Overall they mirror the benefit package with the retail brick & mortar giants. Not on the generous side.
Insurance benefits are below average. Expect to pay a lot out of pocket before you get any benefit.
Raises are typically limited to 1-3%. With the difficult sales numbers they are moving to a low scale.
No bonuses unless you are in upper management.
401K match is low and has a low maximum.
Expect long, stressful hours from September through December.
Company is trying desperately to fight the loss of sales to online competitors.
