    Cons

    Advice to Management

Training and management were good, but they need to be more understanding of sale goals

    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great work/life balance
    - Schedule is pretty consistent and steady
    - Great company values. They do a great job at keeping their employees updated on how the business is going with monthly rallies and daily team meetings
    - No dress code

    Cons

    - Old and outdated equipment that is constantly getting jammed, blowing a fuse or just plain not working properly. Maintenance is constantly fixing the equipment but it still does it
    - In order to receive a discount in the stores you have to sign up for a Macy's credit card
    - Pay doesn't match up with the work they expect of you
    - Making full time here is almost next to impossible

    Advice to Management

    - Update the equipment
    - More opportunity for full time
    - Fix the pay scale

I have been working at Macy's (More than a year)

    Pros

My co workers are the only reason I stayed this long. There fun to work with.

    Cons

They don't appreciate anything. Just this passed week they announce there laying off 50 people and it's not the slow new people it's actually the hard working people that have been there 4 plus years and are working full time because they wanna hire only part timers.

I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice co-workers, flexible hours, monthly rallies

    Cons

Horrible management, treated like children, not real security, no weapons/authority to subdue anyone

    Advice to Management

Management should start treating everyone with respect, all the employees talk back and don't show any respect because the security manager is so concerned with how he'll look to the other managers, that he talks down to us as if we were children.

Former Employee - Intern in City of Industry, CA

    Pros

Casual and approachable executive staff. People always willing to engage with you as an intern and provide assistance. Pleasant team on the floor as well. Everyone is professional in the facility and very welcoming.

    Cons

Not a place that has a lot of growth potential as a professional career. Management can be a bit condescending towards the hourly employees. Hourly employees distrust management team due to a large gap in social status.
