I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I'm not sure if I can speak for every employee, but it's a fun environment. Everyone tends to get along and you are actually able to build friendships overtime. The hiring process is one of the easiest to get through. You are most likely guaranteed a job because they're really not picky when it comes to who they hire, as long as you have open availability. Of course it also depends on who ends up interviewing you. No experience is required because this was the first job I ever had.

    Cons

You are rarely recognized for the things that you do unless you are someone who does things that benefit the company in some way. The only way for you to move up in the company is to kiss up. They also give you false hopes in pay raises. I was told when I was first hired that we are guaranteed a raise at the end of every year. I've been there for over 4 years and have only had a raise of $2, and it's only because the city raises their minimum wage so they have no choice.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledgement of each and every employee would be appreciated.

    I worked at Macy's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of freedom in Loss Prevention.
Depending on how busy your store is can be a really fun or really boring job.
Look for a store with at least 100 external cases a year.

    Cons

    Can be really boring sometimes.
Not a lot of incentives to be good at catching cases.
Employees will either love you or hate you.

    Advice to Management

Increase incentives for agents to increase productivity.
Decrease the amount of "secret internal investigations" of agents.
Increase investment of department as a whole.
