I have been working at Macy's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great environment with caring associates who help each other.

    Cons

The call center wants you in your seat and available for calls 100% of the time with a 2 % margin for error. Use your 2% for incidentals like bathroom breaks ONLY. The smell of the carpet.

    Advice to Management

If management cannot be expected to adhere to a set schedule 98% of the time then why is this expected of your hourly employees. Management should be held to a higher standard and metrics. The employee surveys (regarding management) should be anonymous. Retaliation should not be tolerated.

    I worked at Macy's full-time

    Pros

You get paid ok for listening to people curse at you all day

    Cons

They make the job way more stressful than it needs to be. you are using a system that has so many bugs that they need to fix. And you are handling up to three departments at once witch kills the stats they want you to have and then they will fire you for not making a customer service call that is about fifty million questions long fit into two minutes while keeping your customer service at 100%.

    Advice to Management

Stop pushing your staff so freaken hard and go back to the old system the customers liked it better and so did the employees.

    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Scheduling system allows you to choose your own schedule, with tenure it becomes more convenient. Some of the discounts are pretty hefty as well.

    Cons

Management blatantly talked bad about employees, and treated them with no respect. A WHOLE lot of gossip going around constantly.

    Advice to Management

Don’t talk bad about your employees, or at least not on the floor where they are there to witness it

    I worked at Macy's part-time

    Pros

You get to pick your own hours online to work and an hour break.

    Cons

I worked at Macys for the seasonal time from October to December. It was my first time working like at a big department store and they just had me on the register and on the sales floor cleaning up. I was all over the place to be honest. Low pay for what you put up with during the holidays.
