    I worked at Macy's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the discount. You go on the computer and pick your own schedule

    Cons

the fact that you have to sell 25 cards a week is impossible. Pay mmin wage. not a whole lot of room to move up at the dayton location. The people who have been their a long time will gladly "help you" and take your sales from you.

    Advice to Management

yeah... i hope you fixed that.

Not much communication between the sales associate and the managers.

I have been working at Macy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Paid time off and vacation days are great. Point system is amazing if you don't miss work all year you could rack up like 50 points and then in turn use those 50 points to take days off. I work closely with the local law enforcement, great for criminal justice students.

    Cons

Not very many. Asset Protection is dangerous and you will get hurt eventually, I've been punched but kicked spit on hit by car dislocated shoulder sprained ankle nerve damage to my leg choked punched in throat. I could continue. Got a 13 cent raise last year. A shame.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees when they request a raise.

I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great team, very helpful supervisors, opportunity for career movement, positive work environment, very diverse staff, mostly female-led, feels safe for female employees

    Cons

Not enough time to get the job done, not enough staffing in both sales and support, some bad customers

I have been working at Macy's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great discounts... That you can use on top of sales. Once a month you get an extra percent off. Can choose certain days for availability. Co workers are good for the most part

    Cons

Standing all the time. Some managers have not had leadership training and they can't lead very well. High turn over rate

    Pros

You get a discount at Macy's, and make some extra money around the holidays. The sales associates I worked with were friendly and helpful.

    Cons

You were not guarenteed a schedule or an amount of hours to work. You had to find ways to look busy even when there were no customers and your area was tidy. How many times can you refold that scarf or re-arrange the handbags? Not enough hours scheduled to make up for giving up holiday activities with family.

    Pros

People are hard working and dedicated.

    Cons

The amount of projects that are required from one person far outweighs the time allotted to do them. 40 hours/week.

    Advice to Management

More visual people are needed in each store. Expectations are insurmountable.
