I worked at Macy's part-time for more than a year

      Pros

employee discounts are nice for shopping at Macys

      Cons

weekend work schedule: you will always have to work at least one day each weekend, you can't lock in a weekend schedule, like always work Saturdays. or always work Saturday morning and Sunday morning, One week you are scheduled to start in the morning, then the next you are scheduled to start in the afternoon, so you could not make plans or commitments with family or friends until the very last minute because you didn't...

      Advice to Management

develop a schedule tenure program to reward those workers, even part-time workers, for dependability, attendance, punctuality, performance....by allowing a "set" weekend schedule, so the employee can make and keep other commitments outside of work.

I worked at Macy's for less than a year

      Pros

The hours I worked were really nice to avoid all the traffic on the highways. People I worked around were nice and helpful. They had a nice lunchroom.

      Cons

Too many rules regarding breaks and lunch. I wasn't good enough to keep after my seasonal job ended but 1 week after I left they were calling me to come back.

I worked at Macy's full-time for more than a year

      Pros

great environment great place to grow a gain experience, Great place to start at they hire almost anyone people who apply usally get job offer 3 days after applying. I recommend you apply and get the experience and then leave to a major bank call center like chase or bank of america and get pay a lot more then macys.

      Cons

underpaid no extra pay for working nights or weekends like most credit call centers do. starting pay is around 13 an hour but the average starting pay for other credit call centers are between 16 to 18 an hour.

I have been working at Macy's full-time for less than a year

      Pros

laid back workplace good work/life balance good starting wages lots and lots of training benefits, discounts, good incentives available overtime during busy seasons

      Cons

training classes are very large, the learning material is kind of sloppy, your quality of learning depends heavily on your facilitator, they're over-hiring and expecting a large turnover

      Advice to Management

don't hire so many people, be picky and focus more on teaching everyone to do the right thing, the right way
