    I worked at Macy's part-time

    Pros

The pros working for Macys is a fast paced work environment, flexible hours and easy commute to work. I liked most of the people I worked with.

    Cons

I didn't feel valued and didn't seek full time employment because they didn't offer the benefits I was looking for. Holiday season is very busy and can be stressful

    Advice to Management

I guess my advice to management would be that we understand it is a retail fast paced environment. Validate us verbally regulary. It makes the days better

I worked at Macy's (Less than a year)

    Pros

Relatively good discount with extra 10% added on occasionally. Employee appreciation days and special event for employees

    Cons

High insurance deductible; breaks are not given and therefore are not taken by employees especially during holidays and inventory. Co-workers are constantly calling out puts more pressure on employees that are there; always short-staffed which equals frustrated and irritable customers.

    Advice to Management

More consideration to their employees; hire additionally help not just for seasonal but especially for recovery and sale support.

    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work with school's schedule, flexible time
Department head is willing to work with you
Monthly sales goal, do bad in one, good in another, don't affect monthly sales record

    Cons

    Terrible hours for part timer
    Always get closing shift
Closing shift, most likely you won't hit sales goal
Forceful in terms of opening Macy's credit card
You never see commission in your paycheck even if you over achieve sales goal

    Advice to Management

Discuss in details and give examples of how commission is calculated
Weekly team discussion, talk about who's behind and give advices
