    I have been working at Macy's part-time

    Pros

It has nice coworkers. Nice discount. Easy Job. Customers can be nice.

    Cons

    The pay is low.
Part time positions are being cut like crazy.
    Safety hazards everywhere.
Cosmetics have to do clothing work being we are severely understaffed.
Pushy customers always get the win because the manager gives them what the want. And they always come back to push again.

    Advice to Management

    Alright I have sooo many.
First of all, management should not get mad at us for not 'doing anything' if there's no customers. It's not our fault the store is practically dead.
Secondly, have people who buy stuff from the internet (especially make up) return it on the internet only. POST THE RETURN POLICIES CLEARLY. I don't know what is up with you guys being addicted to overly complicated wording. ENFORCE YOUR POLICIES BECAUSE WHY ELSE WOULD YOU HAVE THEM. TOO MANY EXCEPTIONS FOR 'CUSTOMER SERVICE'.
Thirdly, GIVE A RIP AND CLEAN UP THE STORE. Just because we are one of the smaller stores doesn't mean you should completely ignore renovating us. If you clean up the store like other locations, maybe we can attract more customers.
Next, stop cutting part time positions. Do you guys even want to be in business anymore? I just don't get it.
Lastly, don't blame us if we get stuff stolen. Hire more than two AP people. Have them actually work. YOU HAVE US SHORTHANDED AND EXPECT US TO CATCH PEOPLE WHO ARE STEALING???? Logical.
Bonus: RAISE THE PAY. WE NEED TO LIVE. ALSO CHANGE THE MUSIC. IT'S EITHER POP SONGS LIKE BRITTANY SPEARS AND JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE OR SOME WEIRD TRANCE JAZZ MUSIC. SERIOUSLY.

Breaks were mandatory. . Good benefits. Flexible work schedules. Great Parade.

    Cons

Doesn't pay as much as I liked.
I don't have 20 words to write here, thank you very much. I don't like being told I have to write 20 words in cons if I don't feel I have cons!!!

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up! Kudos!

    Pros

Nice people, merchandise discount, very fast paced, great if you're looking for a PT job to supplement another income or just for a little spending cash.

    Cons

Training program needs to be revisited, screen salaried applicants better, provide development opportunities for hourly staff, required to opening credit cards, turnover is really high, hours varied from week to week and benefits are super expensive.

    Advice to Management

Set and balanced schedules for hourly staff. Have people on the bench to hire so you don't have to screen, interview, hire on the fly.
