I have been working at Macy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Macy's is RICH with tradition and heritage which makes you feel very proud to be a member of an American Icon. Macy's has a lot of power and weight in the industry which makes it fun to do your job. Macy's understands how important it is to truly focus on the customer and make "Magic" with everything you do. It isn't all about numbers, its about positive customer experiences which ultimately lead to results.

    Cons

Like any huge company, there are redundancies with jobs, which makes it difficult to get an answer to a problem or question. Although Macy's tries to move faster, due to the companies size, we often miss business opportunities that smaller competitors act quicker on. Macy's size and power is its greatest strength but also its greatest weakness.

    Advice to Management

Macy's is a truly fun company to work for however Macy's executives (not all) have difficulty embracing change, especially tenured members, making it difficult to innovate.

    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The only thing I liked about working at Macy’s was the pay. I made commission there which was great I made some good money there. I met a couple of good people there as well who were patient with me while I was still in training. Thank you ,Marvin, Naghem, Nawal, Randolph and George.

    Cons

The manager I had was huge pain. I honestly couldn’t stand him, it felt like he was always out to get me some how. He would usually make me want to quit. But the assistant manager was down to earth and seemed to actually care about the employees.

    Advice to Management

Don just throw us on the floor after we watch thanks dreaded videos. We need hands on experience not perfect case sceneries you twats. That’s how I got suspended for scanning a fraudulent coupon with out knowing ( my mistake ) but still there were no managers on the floor for me to go to.

    Pros

This company has great benefits such as PTO, LOA among many others. The district Management is great and supportive.

    Cons

Communication and changes from the top of the company down the line is not timely or effecient.

    Advice to Management

Keep the lines of communication from the top to the bottom open, clear and communicate changes in a more timely manner, to ensure employees can work proactive rather than reactive.

They offer flexible scheduling, perfect for college students like myself who just want some extra cash.

    Cons

You don’t get a lot of hours. If you want to work more you have to pick up shifts which may not always work with your schedule.

    Advice to Management

Keep the workers in mind. Sometimes we get a lot of stuff thrown on us that isn’t part of our job duties.
