    Pros

No micro management , great company to work for, employee incentivities.

Seek individuals in different age groups and skin tones, cultural backgrounds to promote beauty product and lines to reach a broader customer base

    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedules, friendly, helpful, and cooperative coworkers, on top of a welcoming professional environment are all factors that make Macy's a good place to work.

    Cons

If you dislike being mobile and proactive, the holidays aren't going to be much fun. If you like to stay on your toes and being around lots of activity, it'll be entertaining.

    Advice to Management

I wish the schedules were more consistent, I found myself working 30-40+ hours some weeks. I acceded to the extra hours and retail tends to be chaotic so I can't really complain too much.

    I have been working at Macy's full-time

    Pros

Decent employee discount. A good choice for a temporary job.

    Cons

Benefits are impossible to get. Pay raises and opportunities to advance may as well be nonexistent. Other sales associates will act antisocial and cower behind the register on their phones, forcing you to circle the floor and assist customers alone. Coworkers tend to be rude, catty, unwilling to work as a team, racist and homophobic. HR is a joke. Managers cannot get along. You get berated and threatened if you do not sell enough Macy's credit cards. Managers will try to call you in on your only off day per week, every week. Certain departments are obviously favored by the administration over others. Communication between managers is nonexistent leading schedules to become jumbled and incorrect. Managers will blame their miscommunication issues on their associates. Very poor hours, especially if you are unable to work early mornings.

    Advice to Management

Learn to communicate. Stop blaming everything on your subordinates and examine your actions first.

I have been working at Macy's as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

None. Do not trust these dishonest people.

    Cons

Macy's events contacted my company to create custom DIY Flower Corsage and Boutonniere Kits. This included custom made photographs, signage, custom cut ribbon, etc. They decided upon delivery that they did not want it and did not pay us for it. We have lost many hundreds of dollars. They do not do business in good faith and are not honest people. Be careful with working with Macy's and be sure to get payment up front.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and do business in good faith.

    I worked at Macy's as a contractor

    Pros

They have a well-trained staff to train new members who join the company.

    Cons

The time I spent the job was somewhat disconcerting. I would have preferred it to last a longer time.

    Pros

    Cons

    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The only thing I liked about working at Macy’s was the pay. I made commission there which was great I made some good money there. I met a couple of good people there as well who were patient with me while I was still in training. Thank you ,Marvin, Naghem, Nawal, Randolph and George.

    Cons

The manager I had was huge pain. I honestly couldn’t stand him, it felt like he was always out to get me some how. He would usually make me want to quit. But the assistant manager was down to earth and seemed to actually care about the employees.

    Advice to Management

Don just throw us on the floor after we watch thanks dreaded videos. We need hands on experience not perfect case sceneries you twats. That’s how I got suspended for scanning a fraudulent coupon with out knowing ( my mistake ) but still there were no managers on the floor for me to go to.
