    I have been working at Macy's full-time

    Pros

Macy's has an attendance system of points, if your late or can't come in due to illness or just don't want to come in, you use your points. They also allow you to use two days a month to take particular days off.

    Cons

The management is non existent, yes, it could just be my store but they aren't friendly and don't respond to requests of guidance. The scheduling is done by a computer so you might have a really slow day and five people on or a busy day and you're buy yourself.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees, stop worrying about your own career and build a relationship with your people.

    Pros

    Staff and Managers extremely kind.

    Cons

I cannot think of any cons.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the kindness to the employees. Response time could be improved, at times, to get the Manager to the sales area to resolve issue(s). Phone system could use improvement.

    Pros

The people are great. The hours are flexible. The food is great and getting 50% off before or after a shift is nice, but so is 100% off.

    Cons

Communication to upper management is lacking, many miscommunications and the systems is horrible.
The scheduling system is horrible as well as the way to request time off.

    Advice to Management

Keep the staff updated on what's going on, and what we are out of.

I have been working at Macy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The other associates and people you work with make the job do-able. The shifts are flexible if you're working with the right people and they have an attendance point system where you can not go to work on days you don't want to/can't an lose 1 point. It's easy if you're a people person and good with computers.

    Cons

The shifts are different every week, no set schedule. It is hard to gain attendance points and there is no forgiveness if its due to illness. You deal with demanding customers and often the managers aren't available or simply don't answer your calls. The biggest down side is the pay- minimum wage or 50 cent above and maybe, if you're lucky, 15 cent raise once a year.

    Advice to Management

Only if you're score card is above average (always meet sales goal every day, over 10 attendance points, dress code acceptable etc) and then you have to do be a holiday only supervisor (SSA) to see if you are capable to handle management for one year over Christmas, which is the worst time to work retail.
