I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Part time work is flexible with my school schedule. Associates are pleasant to work with here, no drama. Associates receive a discount on merchandise.

    Cons

Working retail, or are required to work nights, holidays, and weekends. Nothing negative towards the company, it's just part of working retail.

    Advice to Management

This store's management i actually pretty great. From the store manager on down. I've worked a several places and this is the best management team I've worked with.

    I worked at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Overall they are great to work for but the best part is the scheduling . They have a system that works for the Forseen and unforseen things that you need off . You can give away your shifts and pick up shifts... extra hours!!! And least but not last the discount of 20 ℅ off when you shop as a employee..

    Cons

I have not had any so can not comment .I would work there again .Would like to move up management

    Advice to Management

Some of the higher employees need to be more verbal on the praises when they see employee s go above and beyond there day to day job duties.

    Pros

family like work environment and not an extremely strict place to work, ultimately could be a fun environment.

    Cons

I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Discount and great people to work with!

    Cons

Low pay, push you to sell credits, add my clients, and goals. They will call you on all your days off to work. Always asking for employees to stay a longer shift.

I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They are very considerate and willing to work around your schedule
They have an an easy to use online scheduling system where you can manage your schedule
You can accumulate points every time you arrive to work on time, you can use these points anytime you call out or arrive to work late.
Employees are given the freedom to make decisions on price changes, returns, exchanges, etc. (with good reason)
Very little micro-managing. Managers are always walking around the store but rarely stay inside your department.
Many employee incentives are provided, such as daily prizes, competitions, etc.
Management is very respectful and considerate of their employees.
Employee discounts are 20% and sometimes 30% or 40% on certain days.
    Very low pay.

    Cons

Store is often under staffed. It can be frustrating when store gets busy and there are not enough associates there to help customers.
Management is sometimes hard to reach. Now their extension goes straight to AST. You really need to have a good reason to get in contact with a manager.
Management is slow and disorganized. Don't bother to ask them to do something for you, they take forever to get something done or forget to do it all together.
There is no training program for new employees. New hires are put on the floor and expected to learn everything without proper training.
There is not enough training for all employees on product knowledge. Many employees cannot find important information about their products in their department.
Even department managers have very little knowledge about the products in the department they manage.
Sales goals are sometimes impossibly high on slower days, impossible to achieve.
They put too much pressure on employees to open credit accounts.

    Advice to Management

Develop a proper training program for new hires and learn more about the department you are in charge of.
