    Pros

Strong support from upper management, opportunities for advancement, opportunities to explore other areas of the business

    I worked at Macy's part-time

    Pros

You get to pick your own hours online to work and an hour break.

    Cons

I worked at Macys for the seasonal time from October to December. It was my first time working like at a big department store and they just had me on the register and on the sales floor cleaning up. I was all over the place to be honest. Low pay for what you put up with during the holidays.

I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My cohort genuinely cares about the success of the store, which is rare among big companies. The hours are flexible, management cares about associates and the people I meet make Macy's a great place for employment.

    Cons

The pay is underwhelming to say the least. The commission that associates make atop of their base salary is difficult to stay atop of. Seeing that it is commission versus draw, when the store is not very busy, associates often suffer from deficit. Also difficult to move up in position at either corporate level or associate level.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing associates to sell as much as they can. Implement a reward system and acknowledge the individuals who go above and beyond. With that, sales and overall team moral will increase and the monthly numbers will reflect that.
