I worked at Macy's part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free gratis products in the cosmetic department

    Cons

I worked at two separate Macys in the cosmetic dept. and twice I witnessed bullying, racism, and injustice. The most recent experience was filled with racism, homophobia, bigotry, bullying, and unhealthy promotion of the brand. You could clearly see that the older employees felt superior and stepped on the younger employees by taking sales, criticizing, and even yelling at them. I have never cried at a job but I cried because of the attitudes of the other employees towards me. There is only ONE thing they care about: who makes the greatest sales. HR is nonexistent and I wasn't given a chance to complain upon my voluntary quit.

I have been working at Macy's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Weekly Pay Employee Discount "Flexible" scheduling only truly flexible if you join on a flex position

    Cons

They will not give you raise ever unless you ask for it, there's no reward for being loyal to this company so if you get a better offer to work somewhere else, take it My location is kind of dirty and dusty, and I get allergies just showing up to work, the last act sections have completely overtaken the majority of sales and the Ross Park Mall location, there is no longer any order to it. Some departments are sorely understaffed and they keep adding more sections to be responsible for, but don't have enough staff or responsible management to take care of and maintain it.
