    Advice to Management

Improve benefits and become more competitive with other companies with salaries to retain resources.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Nice office - beautiful building, lovely furniture, pleasant environment
Flex hours - reasonable expectations for being in the office, managers allowed flex time for work-life balance

    Cons

    Terrible culture, very demotivating
    Too much useless process
    Managers treat employees poorly
Office politics rivaled only by Ancient Rome - managers constantly attempting to assassinate each other
    Endless, pointless meetings
    Low salaries
Employees actually do very little work, relying on contractors - as result, employees don't actually know what's happening with their own projects

    Advice to Management

    Improve the culture
Remove the incentive for managers to constantly snipe at each other
    Get rid of Clarity
    Improve salaries
Suggest relying less on contractors, develop higher expectations for employees
    Limit meetings

I have been working at Macy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

PTO, Holidays are busy but they keep their employees engaged, very open-minded company and open to change! Macy's encourages its executives to challenge their career paths and explore different positions throughout the company on a rotating basis.

    Cons

Holiday Hours, entry-level employees probably have a much harder time advancing through the company than someone who enters the company as an executive would.

I have been working at Macy's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No one in Marketing/Ad Services has ever come up with anything worthy to say about this company. But you can commiserate with your co-workers.

    Cons

They pay about $20,000 less than any other company, Managers have no respect for any of their employees, they have you come in on your weekends around the holidays and you never get to use your comp day for it, upper management are tyrants and refuse to listen to anyone, sexist and racism is rampant and you they refuse to move hard workers up the ladder.

    Advice to Management

Get some people skills, stop being racist and sexist and respect the people that work for you.

    I worked at Macy's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you like retail & people

    Cons

No balance of personal & work life - work comes first or you will never get ahead

    Advice to Management

Time management - be able to change with each new general mgt. - each one changes the way the store is going to feel - & not always in the best way - associates need to feel safe that they will have a job - with each changing general manager not the opposite it takes to long to get the store back working together
general managers do what they want - no control from above -they need to set the same tone in each store to be the same
