I worked at Macy's part-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Working with public, working different hours, free training, free skin care and make up and meetings in Biston.

    Cons

I wish they would hire me back but they are all set and have a enormous amount of young woman and men trying to work their way in

    Advice to Management

Make sure we always have it in stock even if it’s not a top seller, if it’s on the floor and showing especially

    Pros

    The money is really good

    Cons

    Downtown and no place brake

    Advice to Management

It is what it seems. First time is a surprise, Second time hired. You should know what you get hired to do.

I worked at Macy's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The coworkers were awesome Hours were decent and made it easy to have this and another job, Room for advancement

    Cons

Management was difficult to deal with. If you weren't a favorite then it was hard to get ahead. Huge favoritism in the company. Was promised a raise and never received it

    Advice to Management

Keeping other employees down so you look better will not get you to keep your employees. When an employee gets hurt on the job do not act like it's a huge inconvience to you when all the employee was asking for was for more time to complete a project.

    I worked at Macy's full-time

    Pros

Great management. Exceptional associate web portal. Fair practices. Promotions for those that are conscientious and hardworking

    Cons

It's retail. No life. If this is your choice...suck it up!

I worked at Macy's full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Good pay (for retail), flexible schedule, awesome co-workers, employee discount, and AMAZING product-specific training!

    Cons

Only the usual retail-related cons...like not having a set schedule, having to work on most holidays, etc...but nothing specific to Macy's (nothing that comes to mind, at least).

I worked at Macy's part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The work itself wasn’t hard. Pretty easy.

    Cons

No guidance, i came into work on time and spent a whole hour walking around all 3 floors looking for my supervisor. I almost left, to go home. Hours where given to favorites, new comers were getting 30+ hrs while myself and 3 other girls couldn’t get no more then 15 hrs.

    Advice to Management

The worst. I’ve never experienced this in my life. I have a manager who for some reason didn’t like me. I didn’t even work directly under him. One day i made eye contact with while tagging clothes. He came up to me accused me of not working, told me to go home if I’m not gonna home, and mocked me in front of all my coworkers. When i was going on my 3rd rack while others weren’t even finished with there 1st. I wasn’t talking...

I have been working at Macy's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    It's a holiday job that's ending soon

    Cons

Where do I start. The days drag. Most of the people are superficially pleasant but of course they are all backstabbing and gossip queens. The pay is so low it is basically a joke. I did it for a month during the holidays just to keep my head above water while interviewing for much higher level jobs. All the employees complain about customer abuse but I never experienced it. The location I was in was very cliquey. Mostly...

    Advice to Management

Have a better checkout system for customers. The answer isn't more cashiers because no matter how many registers are open lines are still out the door. The problem is the complicated registers that require 5 steps for every process. The hard to remove security tags also slow EVERYTHING Down!! And it doesn't help that there's a code we need to enter before removing it!!
