    I worked at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

20% employee discount, opportunity to earn additional discounts, great system for self managing your schedule, friendly managers and co-workers

    Cons

You HAVE to get a Macy's card to get the discount, they make you push credit cards and not meeting your quota affects your raise options come review time, the "raise" you get isn't even enough for a cost of living adjustment, it's almost impossible to get full time work unless you stay for a long time.

I have been working at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling. The coworkers are great. It's nice working retail for a more high-end company like Macy's! I also really like the company's values and the way it's run. Opportunities for holiday pay.

    Cons

-All scheduling is done online, which I understand why because it's such a big company, but it's really tricky to deal with availability and asking for days off due to the computer system. For example, I couldn't input the days I can't work because they interfere with "key days". You're literally not allowed to input your availability on those days, which is super frustrating.
    - As a seasonal employee, I wasn't given very many shifts for the holiday season which was a little disappointing. Was assigned two shifts between now and Christmas, and then supposed to work the entire week of Christmas. I understand it's seasonal but really expected to be given more shifts. This would maybe be ideal if this was a second job for extra cash but I wanted more shifts to make some consistent money!
    -No commission.

    Advice to Management

As a seasonal employee, I wasn't really given a specific area or supervisor to work with. The managers are all hardworking and helpful, from what I can tell. Maybe just help us seasonal employees out by giving us a designated seasonal employee manager? It's hard to know who to go to because there are so many different managers for different departments, it's a little overwhelming.
