    Not Worth It

    Pros

1 hour UNPAID LUNCH and eazy to work

    Cons

Its a lot! the pay is nowhere near decent, your not gonna start there and make no more then 9.00 a hour and rarely do you get hours a week depending on your department and TIME THERE! cant really take days off because you have to scheduled your days off around others and cant take off during dates of sales ect. they don't sanitize as often as they should!u are able to let someone else in your department work your shift (if they will) but if you switch days with your co workers over time too much they will use that to fire you if they want! they over work you n even if you do your best job "you can always improve" so its never good when it come to your review, raise a YEAR IS 30, 40, or 50 Cents if THE STORE (and u) makes its goals! The pay is caped so dont think youll be getting 50cents a year untill you retire. If you make a lateral move thats more work good luck getting more money, youll get like 30 cents ! Managers Dont Even Make alot of money, the ones with The 15+ Years do. Commission(0.03ish%) Is only in FINE Jewelry, & Home, From the new cuts! Nobody cares about anything, its just people doing a job not what they enjoy or Love!

    Standard Retail Job

Apr 6, 2021 - Fine Jewelry Sales Associate in Dallas, TX

    Business Outlook

    Pros

If you are at a good store, you can make quite a bit of extra money. If you work in jewelry, you don't have to deal with other types of purchases (socks, clothes, home goods) as much. Note you will have to have a background check because you are dealing with higher dollar valued items.

    Cons

Customers - I'm sure all retail places have their share of crazy customers: those who won't wear masks, expect everything for nothing so be prepared to not let it get to you. Retail Schedule - I'm not sure why retailers expect people to be available anytime the store is open. Maybe full-time people should be required to have this flexibility, but part-time employees should be given at least an option to have a consistent morning / afternoon or evening schedule.
