    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My position with Macy's is as a on-call beauty department sales , when a beauty advisor from a brand call in sick or vacation then I will have to replace them in short term. The pros is flexible schedule, I can choose my own time to work .

    Cons

-Expensive Union membership fee, have to pay no matter if you are working more than 40 hours per week or 1 hour per week.
    - Poor management skills , no training provided for the brand so I often feel lost and helpless working in there
    - Hourly wage are low
    -No benefit for my position

    Advice to Management

If you want business to success, don't accept all the returns made by the customer.
There is always customer who returned EMPTY products and no matter if they have proof buying from Macy's or not , the manager there still accepts return. Ridiculous

    I worked at Macy's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Could use if you're just trying to add some customer service experience to your resume. The pay at the san francisco stores is higher than other macy stores.

    Cons

Consistently losing best workers, tends to force all the work on a select few who dont complain about the odd workload, dying company that lacks direction, everyone tends to shift blame elsewhere, everyone loves to gossip

    Advice to Management

Live like decent human beings and maybe your workhorses will stick around.

I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Macys has been a great place working part time. They offer a decent hourly pay with many employee perks. Employee recognition, discounts, and team building activities. People are very nice and friendly.

    Cons

They could invest more in employee feedback on suggestions. Some equipment needs to be replaced.

    Advice to Management

Improve lighting for merchandising team in the early morning hours, fix & replace equipment in a timely manner, improve communication during onboarding of new employees, set up mentoring/buddy system for new employees, identify disaster team members, improve first aid stations, schedule extra recovery staff for day after big sale weekends, offer more smile cards to all employees, not just sales.
