I have been working at Macy's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Macys money: you get macys money whenever you open a credit account or when you get customers to sign up for macys special events. Backdoor Discounts: Ocassionally macys will give employees a extra 10-30% off merchandice on top of the standing 20%

    Cons

Management is all jubbled. Everyone just follows the leader, and the leader is constantly changing making for some hectic work days. Managers will say one thing one day then its completely different the next. To many mixed messages. I was fired, due to finishing a transaction of a coworker had started for me (2 months prior to getying fired) When I was called to AP, I was completely intimidated being told "Theres cameras everywhere." "Were always watching you." Thimgs like that. And though i expressed complete honestly and apologised for the actions I was still fired. Doesnt matter how great of a employee you are or how many satisfied clients you have, they see everyone as "indisposible." Management comes off as helpful but dont ask for to much help or you become one of the ignored or brushed off.

  7. "Macys is a great company that cares about its people. You feel they invest in their people."

I have been working at Macy's full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great training and ability to move through the company. The work is also very fulfilling though the ability to work closely with others and develop their skills

    Cons

Retail hours are retail hours and they could take a toll on the life at home. It's important that if you want to advance you need to be able to make personal sacrifices.

    I worked at Macy's full-time

    Pros

Regularly got a lot of free products and great holiday discounts.

    Cons

No matter how much in hundreds of thousands of dollars in product I would sell it all came to how many Macy's card applications I would get. Being a skincare professional this was not for me. They say they care about the customer, but the customer is really just a number.

I worked at Macy's part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It's retail, it has a lot of downs and a lot of labor on your body. Although the people to work with was fun keeping up with sales and cleaning took a toll on my body.

    Cons

Promises on getting promoted take about a year to get there , hard to work with the slow promotions.
