I worked at Macy's (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There were no pro's. You are a number at Macys.

    Cons

After 14 years of hard property management physical work I was injured on the job by a fellow employee and required over 6 surgeries to correct. Macys response when I would be placed on light duty was to make me a store greeter. Really! I stuck it out though. Then when I was placed on permanent light duty, they decided it was better to get rid of me. I had always been a star performer at any location I was placed at. When a store would be neglected for years, they would bring me in to bring it back to 5 star shape. Then move me onto the next location.

    Advice to Management

Do not treat your workers as a number. Do not reduce departments from 4 person crew to a 1 person crew and expect the same amount of work. Flowers or a acknowledgment when you are in the hospital recovering from work related surgeries would be nice. Have room for advancement in Property Management, really!

    Pros

Macys.com is a fun place to work. Start-up atmosphere.

    Cons

It's not a technical environment. So most people are not technically-savvy.
