    I worked at Macy's full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Steady work, could choose shifts, steady pay check enjoyed my job.

    Cons

Overbearing store mngmt, company is doing bad. Remaining people don't know what day will be their last. Layoffs every year. More stores will close not if its when. When stores close in your area you will be laid off. Macy's not what it use to be.

    Advice to Management

Was alright till you get laid off unexpectedly out of no where than escorted to your car. The company as a whole is doing bad and expect more layoffs. The only people that are safe are upper mngmt. Being on the team is good till its your time to get laid off.

I have been working at Macy's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Layed back work, air conditioned facility. Good payed time off after several years of service. The facility is clean and comfortable.

    Cons

Some managers are racist and trouble makers. The annual reviews are horrible because they will find anything to degrade you no matter how hard you work. But if your one of the favorites you'll be OK.

    Advice to Management

Managers need more training in every subject.

    I worked at Macy's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is a easy simple job but is not very challenging.

    Cons

Pay is low but it should be because you are unskilled labor. Macy's will not pay for any schooling but the good news is that the job is so simple you do not need any. At most companies a regular operator has a more technical job than this one. This is not a real mainenance job you are a glorified cjanitor. Job duties include painting, unclogging toilets, working on paper towel and soap dispensors and some times unjamming conveyors. Working here will not prepair you for working a real maintenance job. You also change batteries and operate the compactor and bailer. I have worked over 20 years in maintenance and this type of work is beneath me.

    Advice to Management

Just promote the battery changer to do this job.

need to put more hours for new employees not make them wait so long to put them on the schedule
