    I worked at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The team members and the manager were kind and good to work with, the job is not too hard but can require physical exertion. Depending on individual strengths, can be assigned to unloading boxes from the truck or something easier like attaching security devices to high value items. The pay is comparable to similar positions with other companies, but the employee discounts were pretty good.

    Cons

Due to the hard times the company is dealing with as a brick and mortar retail business, getting employed full-time was nigh impossible; most of the other team members worked a second job

    Advice to Management

Not much to add, the management did a great job providing guidance and looked out for me.

    I worked at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people were nice, we eventually got in some good management after going through people for awhile. Good discount. They’ll keep you around if you’re willing.

    Cons

Low hours, high turnover rate, Not enough pay. Not enough room to move up when everyone isn’t sure whether your store is closing or not. You end up spending all your money.

    Pros

Very Hands on Great Interview as well this company is getting a new Brand awareness in a Store . They love to promote from within as well

    Cons

The Discount only 20% could be better I guess but other than that and asking every customer to open up a charge would be great

    Advice to Management

Stay sharpe continue to listen to the feed back of your Team members

    Pros

Macy's cash and the discount. Attendance points system is great. Constant change, there's always a new sale or way to entice shoppers to come in. There's always opportunity to move up because the turn over rate is high.

    Cons

Understaffed and management always begged and pleaded for people to stay over their scheduled shift. If you were a person that didn't mind being flexible they would take advantage of it and there is usually no real benefit for helping the store out. Policies are in place to be ignored and not upheld, customers can do, say, and return whatever! Even if they pick an item off the shelf in front of you and you've watched them, even they come to your register without proof of purchase, you must ring the return and make the customer happy. No this is theft and it's not right...gets old after a while. With pay don't expect much. Even if you're a great employee and they think you're valuable and want to promote you the pay is insulting for what they ask of you. Management only makes $1-2 more than sales associates. Somerset is a great store, but the people they have left are over worked and underpaid and it's sad to see the women over 60 yrs old busting their butts and reap no real benefits for their hardwork. It's a lot of things this store and this company could do differently, but I digress. Opportunities for advancement are given to people who are available to them 24/7 and have nothing else going on or another job. Why would it be beneficial to me to take your management position and they pay isn't sufficient and you want all my weekends and my nights?

    Advice to Management

If you value an employee, reward them with something that is actually beneficial. Not free lunch or MM, and not a .20 cent raise.
