      Pros

      Some of the nicest people you will ever work with. Local management is great!

      Cons

      Scheduling system is very much less than nimble. It takes well over a month for the system to catch up with a change of employment status, which can cause significant difficulties for employees and management. Also, I suspect there are some severe glitches in the system when it comes to proper floor coverage. Not enough people scheduled to work on busy days and too many on quieter days. Pay rate is simply not enough...

      I have been working at Macy's part-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

      Great incentives and gaining of experience. I love the people I work with, very family oriented. Flexible work schedules. Love the employee discount and savings through Macy's. Tries to promote a professional atmosphere.

      Cons

      Minimum wage. It's very hard to move up, if you are held back by the ridiculous standards they set, i.e. scorecard. Even though the scheduling can be flexible it's made by a computer which is not personable in any way. Must be prepared to deal in customer service situations, as everyone is a customer service representative.

      Advice to Management

      My advice towards management is just overall communication. In my store there is a lack of communication between managers and other associates making it very hard at times to get taken care of when it comes to personal needs.
