    I worked at Macy's part-time

    Pros

It's a nice place to work. You create your own schedule which is a great tool for single moms.

    Cons

The pay is horrible. For a retail giant to be so cheap when it comes to paying their employees is insane.

I worked at Macy's as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

District management lets you try new things and bring ideas to the table. They are very flexible. They are there to support and give resources. Benefits were good and so was the employee discount. You get 20% off purchases from your Macy's bill. (coupons can be applied too).

    Cons

Let you hire people under you at a better wage.

    Advice to Management

When you have good talent you need to pay people more so they stay with you. A well paid employee will stay and do even more getting a better return on your investment.

    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are none to speak of.

    Cons

Managers follow you around too much, want you to do nothing but busy work, treat you like you're an idiot, low pay I don't even think I made 1,000 working there, long hours

    Advice to Management

Let employees do their job, stop following them

    I worked at Macy's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The discount and flexible schedule

    Cons

The co- workers can be nasty. So was the HR manager and the Cosmestics Manager. They were unprofessional in the sense that there was a lot of favoritism . The loss prevention team are constantly harrassing the staff. It's not worth the stress and the minimum wage that Macy's pays to work here.

    Pros

Alot of overtime available, great coworkers

    Cons

Management treats you like a second class citizen. They suck the life out of you with their unreasonable expectations and threaten your job on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps if you treated your employees in a fair manner and like human beings they would be more productive. You are all a mess. From your personal appearance (yes I said it!!! Wash your clothing and press them. Try shining your shoes you slobs.Get a new pair of stockings, comb your hair!) Then you can talk about leading by example! Also, get a cleaning crew for the store and the nasty bathrooms. No one needs to see a turd every time they want to use the employee restroom. GET SOME CL:ASS! You are just disgusting. New management is a must if your store will ever get out of the gutter its in!
