I worked at MadDash E-Media (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Willing to give less experienced employees a chance
    Close knit, small company
    Nimble
    Stable..almost 20 years in business...proven track record
From what I'm told, they now produce more creative, higher end projects and less of their early year's employment videos (which were more productized)
Collaborative for the right person. You have to want to work hard and contribute.

    Cons

Struggle with former freelancers who they've hired and are only there to build their personal portfolio, not be part of the team.
Can hire too young, which affects overall work ethic and professionalism
Protective of the client and deliverable, to a fault

    Advice to Management

Keep a good balance between experienced production folks and some newbies.
Continue to invest in good equipment
Keep focus on business fundamentals. Don't turn into a creative house that ONLY cares about creative. Keep a balance and run a smart business. Stability leads to creativity.

I worked at MadDash E-Media as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Unique client projects, interesting travel spots, good entry - mid level pay. Hires that are the right fit need to be kept longer (more incentives).

    Cons

Changing dymanics, business model change, sometimes hires were not the right fit and kept on a bit to long.

    Advice to Management

Keep long term performing employees - adjust compensation measurements. Keep evolving to a more creative model. Model had been changing when I left into a more creative project house. I did like the consistency of the packaged services but creatively got a bit boring.

I worked at MadDash E-Media full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a sales company, not a production company. If you are a cut throat sales person driven by money, this might be a good puddle jump for 6 months or so until you find a better environment to work in.

    Cons

The work environment is very outdated and tyrannical. You are expected to travel nights, weekends, and put in many long days, but on the flip side will be berated for leaving your desks for 30 minutes at lunch. Producers are expected to rush scripts (Owners are under the impression that everything "should only take 5 minutes") and as a result the work becomes bland and uninspired very quickly. The owners are only interested in moving onto the next project and so it is difficult to build a portfolio of work here. They often want to hire someone who is young and hungry (and male, they are TERRIBLE for women) but they also severely undervalue and underpay their staff. Don't be fooled by the MadDash sales pitch. Remember, they are a sales company. Any production house or creative shop will treat you better.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like people, not children you have to tend to.
