    I worked at Madame Tussaud's part-time

    Pros

My coworkers were one of the best things about the job. Very fun people. As an employee of Merlin Entertainments, you get a pass to visit any of their other properties for free in the U.S. You can also apply and transfer to jobs available at their other locations. Merlin has job training programs designed to help employees enter higher management positions. There is the possibility of cross-training for other jobs at either Madame Tussauds or the San Francisco Dungeon, in case you weren't too satisfied with the one you have. The back office people, managers, etc. are really nice too.

    Cons

You're basically only going to get San Francisco's minimum wage. The place is gossip central. There was a toxic management culture lurking under the surface (I've heard things have stabilized and improved a lot, though), and high employee turnover (including that of the management team). It was frustrating to an insane degree. Most of us spent a lot of time complaining about how dysfunctional it all was.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to what the lower level employees have to say about improving work conditions.

I worked at Madame Tussaud's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-A lot of hours during the busy seasons.
    -Flexible scheduling.
-Hourly pay is only slightly higher in minimum wage ($12)
    -Coworkers are very friendly

    Cons

-Managers and Boss do not listen to employees suggestions and concerns.
-Managers also do not help when an employee needs it.
-Very understaffed, a lot of hours because of this. Downside: days requested are often rejected.
-New ridiculous rules are made almost weekly, with no real reason as to why they are being in placed
    -Schedules are often done wrong
-The main Boss of the attraction is known to yell at employees (even in front of guest).
    - said Boss also makes no effort to get to know host employees and acting like they want nothing to do with them (most are scared of the boss)
-Pay is not that great. Some positions which are harder to work in are paid the same as positions where little effort is needed.

    Advice to Management

Things to change! Employees are not happy. Very stressed out for a part time job that doesn't care about its employees.

Do not apply here! Most newbies leave within a week or two!

I worked at Madame Tussaud's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very flexible scheduling, get to go in for free, you get a merlin pass to visit other attractions.

    Cons

Not enough pay, we were understaffed for most of the time I spent there, management hardly ever gave us real tools to help with the guests experience it was mostly like "this is all what we got, work with it."

    Advice to Management

Put in real work orders for things employees need that are used in the everyday worklife. For example, more up to date/efficient counters.

I have been working at Madame Tussaud's part-time

    Pros

    - Fun workplace environment
    - Flexible hours

    Cons

-Management treats employees like guinea pigs, having them try new ideas without any knowledge of if the ideas will actually work well
    -Repeatedly pays commission late
-Does not listen to employee complaints

    Advice to Management

Listen to employee complaints and work to solve these issues instead of leaving them on the backburner
