I have been working at Madden Communications full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Madden is well-respected in its industry with a strong product offering. It has been constantly evolving over the last 10 years in order to position itself for the next generation of retail marketing POS execution. Good people working hard to make a difference. Great benefits and work-life balance.

    Cons

Madden is currently transitioning from its legacy traditional print manufacturing background to a more diverse procurement and distribution service provider. There is lots of change to deal with.

I worked at Madden Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people work here, employees take pride in their work, good benefits package.

    Cons

There is a lot of secrecy. Management claims to have open doors but that isn't true. There appears to be a revolving door (high turnover) at the top.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with your employees. When you don't, rumors start and morale goes way down.

    Pros

The communication and the company outlook is improving. A lot of changes have been made to improve the overall outlook for the company. It seems there will be many more opportunities in the future.

    Cons

The company vision has not always been clear. Upper management should keep communicating and being open for questions.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should continue to have town hall meetings and encourage questions.

I worked at Madden Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Remarkable talent and knowledge across the board. Dedicated staff with a passion to provide the best services.

    Cons

Over a decade of layoffs with 2019 being no different. Customers have left for competitor organizations that are investing in people, services and technology.

    Departments shuttered and outsourced.

    Morale is negative.

What management still exists refuse to communicate what’s happening. This gives employees the feeling that you’ll show up to locked doors one day. True or not, the feeling is there.

    Advice to Management

Communicate. Respect those that are dedicated to making a difference. Acknowledge people’s fears.

I worked at Madden Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Amazingly driven and knowledgable employees, almost to their own detriment.

Madden employees have a knowledge and work ethic unmatched by their competitors. Competitors that are taking in these employees quicker than Madden can lay them off.

    Cons

Lay-offs that are so massive that those who survived are on their way out the door. Advancement opportunities for your career and paycheck no longer exist.

Senior leadership routinely makes promises it can never fulfill. Strategy and messaging to employees changes quarterly where it’s hard to decipher what’s true and what’s smoke and mirrors.

3 CEOs in a revolving door over 1 year has to tell you something right?

    Advice to Management

Amongst all this, I suppose I appreciated the education. Continue to train well.

Think less about doing public damage control and more on regaining trust lost.

I have been working at Madden Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

After losing several clients and laying off most of their full time staff in 2018 there isn’t much farther they can fall.

    Cons

Dishonesty about the constant layoffs. Upper management is blind to the people in their company working against them.

The environment is toxic and expectations are inconsistent.

    Advice to Management

Stop putting off the inevitable. Close the doors and let your employees get on with their lives.

    Madden Communications Response

    Feb 28, 2019 – HR Director

While it is true that we have become a smaller company over the last two years, we still have great clients and a viable and profitable business with no intention of "closing the doors".

    Pros

Madden has a really good work-life balance for most employees. Overall, the compensation is higher than average. The facilities are all really nice.

    Cons

Madden has recently lost a couple large customers so there have been layoffs but hopefully we'll win some new customers soon.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the transparency.
