I worked at Madison Square Garden full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Access to some of the best venues in the world; the chance to market/sell some of the best brands in Sports and Entertainment; and the opportunity to work with some of the top players in the the industry

    Cons

Corporate structure can be slow-moving; goal alignment between the top and the middle/bottom isn't always in place; intra-division communication isn't great despite a large number of meetings

    Advice to Management

Continue to attract top talent, but consider targeting more leaders from the sports and entertainment space with immediately applicable experience

I have been working at Madison Square Garden (More than a year)

    Pros

The Garden is intensely structured, very little is left in question. There is truly a person for every job. In the past year, the leadership has made considerable strides in creating a more unified, community environment, which has been great. The Garden and it's legendary brands are truly one of a kind, and you can feel the pride that everyone has for this organization, it's venues, teams, performers, and history.

    Cons

Because there is such a tight structure, it leaves little room for growth. Many VP level employees have been with the company for 20 years and aren't going anywhere, which is good and bad. This company has a lot of "this is how we've always done it" drama, and because so many folks have worked together for so long, relationships are sometimes strained.
