I have been working at Madura Fashion full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Established systems
    Good salary for freshers
If team is good, one can be happy
Since, the organization is quite big and some people have been working from a very long time, one tends to get a government office-like feeling, some lapses are easily ignored
HR appears to be proactive in terms of growth opportunities

    Cons

Major politics in the mid and senior management
    Discrimination across hierarchies
Off role employment policy creates bad environment for many
The process itself becomes problem especially for immediate requirements
High/mid managements feels the lower hierarchy deserves to do repetitive/non-value added work
Leg pulling and blame games betwenn people and functions very prevalent
No initiative ever taken up for employee motivation
    No extra-curricular/outbound activities
    Saddest canteen ever, pathetic food
    No gym, no TT table

    Advice to Management

Create positive disruptions so no one stays in one role for too long and is not able to do politics
Receptive approach has to be promoted
Regular employee engagement programs need to be planned

    Pros

Allowances, emergency leaves, manager understands your issues, good LTA and Mediclaim can be claimed, else money for medical will be returned at year end

    Cons

Week offs, not effective training, touch of politics,, higher management hardly talks to the junior level, managing team Can be difficult if they are too primary level thinker

    Advice to Management

    Empathize with employees

I have been working at Madura Fashion full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. It is a part of ABG - enough said. MFL inherits an excellent work culture
    2. You are free to try your ideas here - not too restrictive (this , of course, depends on your boss). offers great learning opportunities
    3. Employee benefits - discounts across ABG, travel within India, access to ABG Travel portal for personal travel

    Cons

    1. Recently HR introduced card-swipe based attendance tracking system which is extremely annoying & does not give you enough flexibility. You need to be in office before 9.30AM & clock 8.5 hours, even if you had worked until 8PM or 9PM the previous day
    2. Too much work pressure. Don't expect a 5-day week, 9-hour job.

    Advice to Management

    1. Recognize those who stretch themselves. There are sooo many people who slog & not everyone "Exceed Expectations". But they are all putting in a lot of efforts at the end of the day & receive no relaxation.
    2. Leave/attendance/work from home policy should be objective and not left to the discretion of the manager.
    3. Treat MFL employees equal to ABG employees. Don't make ABG employees' career progression so visibly different from MFL's

    Pros

Nice policies with structural escalation matrix.one of the organisations where HR is equally strong and supportive.

    Cons

Sometimes there are bias and political driven stances as the organisation is too huge. However one should be aware of the escalation matrix all the time.
