    Pros

There is a lot of money to be made with this company and lots of opportunity for growth.

    Advice to Management

If you are in a position of Management, it is your responsibility to stand up for your team.

I worked at Maersk Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

this is a lead architect job. title does not mean any thing this is not a hands on job. expect no hands on. excellent pay and benefits.

    Cons

no hands on java at all. if u are working with IBM offshore expect horrors. . this is a complete chaos. no proper documentation development guidelines build scripts or even version control for a huge project. people don't even know how to use version control. they use version control to create directories and copy code from one release to another. no SDLC, IBM will do what ever and u have no control over it as slightest change will result IBM asking for 6 month delay and u get blamed. They are planning to Buy and integrate IBm products. so there may be less scope for development work

I have been working at Maersk Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are not too many pros to this company. It is a same a company with this reputation treats its employees so poorly.

    Cons

Long hours, poor management, off shoring jobs, unfair performance reviews, people protecting their turf, people fired for no apparent reason

    Advice to Management

Stop off shoring all the work

I worked at Maersk Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company's philosophies are to be admired. Charlotte office has a gym and a full time fitness manager. Maersk has a lot of great people working for them but it seems most go unappreciated. The company is huge on green belt training.

    Cons

Very little opportunity for people that are not hand selected for promotion. While the company is proactive in greenbelt training, the opportunity for this particular training is not offered to employees equally. As with all companies, lots of politics...

    Advice to Management

    Need better Executive Management

  5. "Company is a boy's club where promotions are not given on merit, salary is low in the industry, and culture is very EU."

    Pros

benefits, 401 K, time off when needed, excellent exposure to global commerce, international culture and travel available. World wide company, looks great on your resume.

    Cons

promotions and opportunities not given on merit. Frequent layoffs, Poor salaries in the industry, poor structure. Company has no plan for profit loss except to irrationally lay off large numbers of people then immediately turn around and hire new people.

    Advice to Management

Good place to start out but don't make it your career. Use the experience for what it is and move on in a few years.

    Pros

International company, good management, okay benefits

    Cons

Outsourcing of jobs to India and China. No room for advance or growth in the Finance Department.

    Advice to Management

Quit offshoring jobs and bring them back to the USA. You say you value your employees, but you continue to lay people off to squeeze profits and move the jobs to India.

    Pros

Great benefits, paid vacation, many opportunities for advancement if you have the will and drive. . . . . .

    Cons

Such a huge company that it can be hard to get noticed. Sometimes the work atmosphere can feel unneccesarily stuffy, could find ways to make work more fun

    Advice to Management

Provide better feedback to employees about how their performing. Don't be scared to let underperformers go. Be more scrutinizing in the interview process
