I worked at Maersk Logistics full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good office environment. Management very knowledgeable. Company is considerate to their employees.

    Cons

Not much room for advancement unless willing to relocate. Constant changing of customers within the CSRs. One-on-one training very short before being put out on the floor on their own.

I have been working at Maersk Logistics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A lot of diverse global clients.

There are many opportunities ahead, even though they started to hire more from outside the company.

    Strong work ethic

    Cons

Sometimes they are unwilling to spend on value added areas, unless there is a direct and extremely obvious commercial value. I think this could be a fatal flaw in a increasing competitive market.

    Advice to Management

Take more risk and trust that your employees have thought out recommendations. Also spend money in areas that count

    Pros

Pleasant atmosphere with excellent working conditions and benefits. Company culture quite reserved and everyone treated with dignity and respect. Good opportunities for training. Management generally has open-door policy and suggestions for improvements are welcomed.

    Cons

Since economic downturn too much is demanded of too few workers and the outsourcing of a number of tasks to the global service center makes communication and problem-resolution difficult.

    Advice to Management

    Be generous with commendation.

    Pros

Management is strong and the company seems to care very much for its employees. The history and culture are strong and the scale of the larger organization(APM-Maersk) is impressive, very financially stable.

    Cons

The company is placing more focus on benchmarking against competition and this will place more pressure on individual performance. This is not necessarily a bad thing but will result in greater internal pressure to achieve financial results. Job stability may not be what it once was.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on communicating areas of focus and objectives for the larger organization. This is a challenging economic environment and being open and honest is valued by all.

I worked at Maersk Logistics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There were opportunities for travel and on the job learning. Expatriate opportunities if you have the right connections.

    Cons

Management seemed clueless about what was happening on the ground and when things went sour tried to make too many changes all at once. Very little attention and care for staff out in the locations.

    Advice to Management

Focus on people as well as the numbers.
