I have been working at Magna International full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Tremendous efforts put forth to make sure the production personnel are comfortable and happy with the work environment. Corporate and Division level engineer groups focus heavily on R&D to bring innovation into the production facilities

    Cons

Potentially long work hours. Technical groups have in the past been overlooked on QOL issues.

    Advice to Management

Utilize the wealth of resources available to come to consensus when issues arise. No one person has to solely bare the the brunt of a misstep. Everyone stands to gain or lose when we win or don't.

I have been working at Magna International full-time

    Pros

Great company to work for, great benefits and an excellent fair treatment policy.

    Cons

the salaried people are like slaves, they are expected to come in at all hours. If they answer 99 out of 100 phone calls while not at work, the next day management tells them that they "need to be more passionate" etc.

    Advice to Management

Employees get away with being extremely belligerent, disrespectful and vulgar towards their peers. The fairness policy gets a little too lenient sometimes. It's like management is afraid to fire bad people because of their attitude or lack of performance, or just too lazy.

    Pros

Share some of the best reasons to work at magna.
Not as high pressure and high stress as many oem companies.

    Cons

Share some of the cons of working at magna.
The job pays exceptionally poorly for as challenging as it can be.

    Advice to Management

There are alot of people being paid entirely to much to stand around chatting by the coffee machine while underpaid folks are here until all hours of the night.

    Cons

At times there are long days, thats expected, not much of a con. It comes with the job. Meeting rooms are spread out like a college campus. The focus on zero defects and what that means should be clearly understood by all and simplified for an operator to understand.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing. Making progress in leaps and bounds.
