I have been working at Magna International full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Tremendous efforts put forth to make sure the production personnel are comfortable and happy with the work environment. Corporate and Division level engineer groups focus heavily on R&D to bring innovation into the production facilities

    Cons

Potentially long work hours. Technical groups have in the past been overlooked on QOL issues.

    Advice to Management

Utilize the wealth of resources available to come to consensus when issues arise. No one person has to solely bare the the brunt of a misstep. Everyone stands to gain or lose when we win or don't.

    Pros

Competitive salary and benefits compared to other automotive companies. Advancement opportunities do come up regularly.

De-centralized structure makes things harder and slower than they should be for global initiatives. Culture is focused on short-term financial results, although there are some initiatives to move towards long term strategic planning.

I have been working at Magna International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    No Pros to mention here

    Cons

If you're an engineer considering working here, I would NOT recommend it. No work/life balance, working most weekends. Engineering management is very incompetent and quick to point the finger, not stand up for you. If your an engineer looking to advance your career, this is not the place for you. Look at the next job posting.
