    Cons

Management in each Division is different some good, some not good and this can be seen in the also in plants around the world.

    Advice to Management

Corporate Headquarter, should listen to other layers downstream.

I worked at Magna International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity for growth (If you are politically savvy, and work hard). Magna is a great place to get experience!

    Cons

The employee Charter is only followed when it benefits the company. HQ serves the Magna "Kool-Aid" and if it was executed at the group/division level it would be great! Unfortunately it is not and people are numbers. The extremely high turn over and back stabbing make Magna a stop along the way instead of the destination for a career

    Advice to Management

Follow the Charter, invest in your people and listen to them.

I have been working at Magna International as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

    They keep you real busy

    Cons

They keep you real busy because they are under staffed. It's like everything it on fire and you only have gas to put it out with.

    Advice to Management

Put the right people in the right spots. give them some help and you go a lot farther.

I worked at Magna International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Gain a lot of experience with UAW
    -Great Co-Workers
    -Decent Pay
    -Great values

    Cons

    UAW!!!
They make it very difficult to work! you cannot implement new great practices because the UAW always thinks you are trying to cheat them.

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing entirely on the UAW. You have salary workers that are amazing employees that want to enable the business. However, there hands are completely tied!

I have been working at Magna International (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a paycheck every Friday... that's about it.

    Cons

It's a revolving door of employees. Although the pay is pretty decent compared to other factories in Holland, MI, other companies have very comparable pay. Many of us , including me, plan to work elsewhere. No sense of direction in this company... employee morale is among the worst that I have ever experienced.

    Advice to Management

What management??? There is no sense of direction whatsoever at the Holland, MI location. I followed the directions of my line manager to go to HR person to request a personal day off, and was written up for "poor attendance". You wonder why you have quality / production problems. Treat your employees with a little more respect and maybe they will stay longer than 6 months. COMMUNICATE!!!!

Former Employee - Machine Operator in Spartanburg, SC

I worked at Magna International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job is very easy and there is a more mature crowd so no drama. The pay is reasonable depending on your bills. There are a lot of job openings.

    Cons

You have stay on top of HR regarding everything like your paperwork, attendance, payroll ect...... The people they put with you to train you are mostly new hires themselves so they lack in that area as well. You can never find a supervisor on the floor;normally you have to find them yourself or find another supervisor in a different area to call for them. High turn over ratio.

    Advice to Management

Come up with new policies and better management teams.
