    Pros

Pay, decent break schedule. Some people are ok to work with, but others are "favorites" and these are some of the worst people to work with.

    Cons

Where to start? Very hypocritical in fairness. What is clearly stated as unacceptable in the employee handbook is acceptable for one employee, while the other employee doing the same thing will be terminated with no warning, seen this happen several times. There is no work life balance, you work when they say, for how long they say, schedules are never consistent. Most management is backstabbing and manipulative, this seems to be the driving force in being promotable. If you're not fond of your family, work here. Otherwise, just keep searching. The longer you stay, the worse it gets.

    Advice to Management

Actually practice what you preach. Stop pretending to care to boost morale. It works for a time, then it builds even more resentment, once people understand your true intentions.

I worked at Magna International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good technologies and products that customer need

    Cons

Management in each Division is different some good, some not good and this can be seen in the also in plants around the world.

    Advice to Management

Corporate Headquarter, should listen to other layers downstream.

I worked at Magna International full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Easy work
    Good benefits
    Employee hotline for help

    Cons

    No raises ever
Work every holiday & down day in somenpositions because that's when the plants are closed. Execs and leaders aren't there - just the minions whose lives and families don't matter as much as PMs
Idiots promoted & running the place in the ground
Sales people lying to customers to get contracts
Use unskilled & unreliable temp labor
Managers will set you up to fail or worse
Execs just pass blame around & when they can't figure out why everything is such a multi million dollar mess, change leaders, change policies, and start all over - about every 12-18 months.
    Trust no one but yourself
Shady business and backdoor deals going on
Key knowledgeable people get set up to get canned
No one sees nothing & no one does the right thing to make wrong BS stop - including HR
Railroads run through there with frequent stops over good people who deserve better treatment.

    Advice to Management

    Use common sense
Fix the root cause not the symptoms
Pay the good people, not the ones passing the paper around
Retain the good people not just the warm bodie or floaters
If someone busts their butts and sacrifices their life and family to keep things running - treat them like they matter
Stop promoting the wrong people in to positions of power they can abuse.
Promote the right people & train them.
HR shouldn't discourage employees from education & should create opportunities for all to move forward - not just select groups or pets.
Stop feeding in to the egos or rumor mill drama BS - everything can be made to look like something it isn't.

I worked at Magna International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity for growth (If you are politically savvy, and work hard). Magna is a great place to get experience!

    Cons

The employee Charter is only followed when it benefits the company. HQ serves the Magna "Kool-Aid" and if it was executed at the group/division level it would be great! Unfortunately it is not and people are numbers. The extremely high turn over and back stabbing make Magna a stop along the way instead of the destination for a career

    Advice to Management

Follow the Charter, invest in your people and listen to them.
