    Pros

Agile; quick to react to market economic conditions; very disciplined financially; good benefits and many well-meaning people

    Cons

I worked at Magna International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Job Security only if you work the production floor. Very fast pace. Long work weeks.Management's expectations of each shop floor employee grooms them for far greater career opportunities outside of the company. The pay is good as long as you don't mind VERY lean manufacturing.

    Cons

If you have family this facility is very high volume so don't expect any time off.

    Advice to Management

Management changed hands too much. It really brought down morale seeing so many office personnel hit the revolving door.

I worked at Magna International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits and training opportunities. This is a place to cut your teeth at a professional level but the opposition to change is very real.

    Cons

Buddy system in full swing and much is done for looks with no real effort towards improvement. In the production divisions everything goes through corporate which is staffed with many people that have never worked in a division so you are bombarded with pipe dream requests and demands and then held to an impossible standard.

    Advice to Management

Understand that the work of others is what runs a division and understand work life balance.

    Pros

A helpful crew of people who are knowledgeable in there specific field of interest. Decent pay and bonuses throughout the year. Really good development program as far as book clubs and learning sessions offered. Rapid production helps you acclimate quickly to your role.

    Cons

Hard to make progress up the ladder. Successor to jobs usually planned prior to posting them so it's a waste of time to apply usually. Environment is starting to trend downward with people becoming unhappy with the shift in leadership and new rules popping up. Never know where you stand due to poor performance evaluations.

    Advice to Management

Start asking people what matters to them and taking that advice. Allow people the freedom to make judgments on their own without micromanaging.
