I worked at Magnolia Audio-Video full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Discount, that's honestly it.

    Cons

    Base rate/commission style
    Hard to build cliente
Hourly rate is considered a "loan" until you hit your commission goal, then it's subtracted from your commission goal.
The more hours you work, the higher your goal. So employees would clock in for 32 hours and really work 50.
You don't get your commission until the job is completed, so you have to scheduled your clients jobs according to YOUR pay schedule (example: if a customer wants their tv mounted, but you already set/met your comission goal for the next two weeks, you'd want to schedule them for the third week after to make sure your "pipeline" isn't dry.
It's a rip off. To mount a tv for a customer they can charge anywhere from $600-$800 when Best Buy only charges $250 and they are right next door. $250 including the mounting bracket. Magnolia only charges $600-800 for the labor only.
Rip off!! As a company to employees and consumers.

    Advice to Management

Train the employees better versus throwing them into the wolves and hiding in your office all day. Also don't lie about how the pay really is while recruiting (AKA don't promise the potential to make over 100k because it's simply not that easy unless the person already has a clientele and YEARS of experience.

    Advice to Management

Jobs need to be planned out in a more consistent manner.
