I worked at Magnolia Bakery full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free daily treat, chill coworkers, awesome desserts, employee discount, adorable set up, great smell (most of the time). Oh yeah, and weekly pay + tips. Good job to build up customer service experience and make some extra money. At full time hours this job wouldn't pay all your major bills plus groceries but it at least got my phone bill and half of the rent out the way

    Cons

Peak hours can be really stressful but that's sort of the deal to expect with service jobs. Management can come off as a bit condescending sometimes but definitely not the worst I've had. Deciding whether or not to call off when you need to when no one was able to swap or cover can be kinda scary bc you don't want to get in trouble. Also, for a standard 7-8 hour shift where you're on your feet and constantly moving around and about, 30 minutes is way too short a break, esp for minimum wage service workers. An hour should be the standard. If I didn't bring a lunch with me, my break would already be halfway over by the time I was done simply going, ordering, buying and bringing back my food to eat. And god forbid they learn you're trying to get a side job, you know, to support yourself which you can't do on 10 bucks an hour. If they don't dramatically cut your hours they'll drop you so fast.

I have been working at Magnolia Bakery full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get a lot of leeway.
    Tips can be quite good.

    Cons

It's not very interesting work, and there isn't any room for growth.
    Constant staff turnover.
Managers switch around constantly as well, so there is very little consistency.
Staff is stressed and unfriendly. No one likes their job.
    Wages low.
Paid sick leave just isn't a thing.

    Advice to Management

Just get some decent managers, and let them stay at one store. Pay everyone more, and stop letting the CEO swan around like a buffoon.

    Pros

    Free desserts, that's about it.

    Cons

EVERYTHING ELSE, I could write an entire novel as to why this was the worst job experience of my life. But, I will spare you the gory details, and advise you to rethink your potential employment with the company.

    Advice to Management

Get off your passive aggressive fat butts, stop eating cupcakes in the office and provide your staff with guidance, leadership and positive words of encouragement for the hard work they're doing.
