    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Magnolia Public Schools full-time

    Pros

Small School, less than 500 Students. Safe students mostly know each other and no major problems. Small class size for high school students.

    Cons

6-12 middle and high school at the same campus. Crowded middle school classes cause difficulties for classroom management. A lot of behavior problems. Very high expectations.

    Advice to Management

Decrease the number of the students at middle school, and/or hire teacher aids. There should be only a few students with IEP's in one class. Teachers can not be more effective when number of the SPED students increase in one class.

    Pros

Great experience for someone looking at a career in teaching.

    Cons

Teaching may not be for some people. Kids will disobey and disrespect you. Remember to be the adult.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Magnolia Public Schools (More than a year)

    Pros

Good trips to Turkey and occasional Shwarma and kebab lunches, great on food and multiculturalism

    Cons

Teachers from Turkey lack accrediation and interest in American culture but rather pushing Turkish culture, language, dancing and even teaching Turkish character classes (whatever that is) lacks transparency and answers to any questions very robotic leaderships as if they are brainwashed.

    Advice to Management

Take English classes and be transparent about your board meetings .

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Magnolia Public Schools part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with. They are very serious about giving the students the best education possible. Friendly teachers and admin. The teachers respect the AIDS which creates a positive environment.

    Cons

Some lack in organization. They are newer schools and still need to tighten up some loose ends. It also appears they are short-staffed as they have too few people doing too many things. Some people are there for like 12+ hours which just isn't healthy.

    Advice to Management

I suggest you hire more minimum wage office assistants to take some of the load off of the primary admin. They are overworked and will not last long under that pressure.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Magnolia Public Schools full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Sincere emphasis on student success and academics. Benefits include entire family. Diverse staffing.

    Cons

Very hierarchical, little/no room for innovation outside of C-suite, often expected to work overtime without compensation, no boundaries for life/work balance, in general lacks educational innovation

    Advice to Management

Model classroom expectations in staff culture (i.e. support empowerment, innovation, voice, flexibility, etc...). Charter schools should be more than a district school with free tutoring. Consult the most current research for effective learning environments. Support transformation despite parent resistance, not status quo because its easier.

I have been working at Magnolia Public Schools full-time

    Pros

Students are generally well-behaved in comparison to other districts. Small community feel in schools.

    Cons

Teachers get overloaded with duties outside their roles and don't get compensated(including mandatory hours outside of regular school days/some weekends). Also, many administrators don't have proper leadership training.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate/respect your teachers and treat them professionally. Get proper training in your roles as leaders.
