I worked at Mahindra Satyam full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - You might get onsite oppertunity more compare to other organization. But that is not sure. It's not like Satyam. Satyam was a great brand. But Mahindra satyam is a worst one. I have spoiled almost 8 months of my career there. So i suggest everyone not to join if you have any other options.

    Cons

-You will cry to get a project. And the technicality of the work is zero.
    - Work environment in any project is worst. Difficult to manage work life. I mean Saterday and sundays are granted as working days for few projects.
    - Management is worst. As organization point of view, your RM is everything for you. But you will have rare chance to meet your RM and he/she have almost no idea about you, your technology, your skill etc.

    Advice to Management

Remove all old satyam employees. They are not doing anything, rather they are spoiling the environment.

    Pros

Nice place to start your career..lucky if you are mapped to a project immediately after training, else the project mapping team seriously wont be able to track down your profile and you will have to go tip to toe and your efforts will only help you..

    Cons

Management !! wish you could make some sense out of them..pretty old people managing only because they have been here since ages!!

    Advice to Management

I strongly believe there are thousands like me who think the same way and Vision 2015 will not be met until and unless you make the existing junior employees happy...Hikes are horrible!! please..everything is costly..people are having hikes of hardly 10- 20 k max average per annum!! imagine the scenario for a junior resource who was hired just a year ago and has this hike!!

I worked at Mahindra Satyam full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

As the workload is very high you will improve your time management skills.
You will also get an opportunity to learn - mainly through your own research and capabilities

    Cons

Career path/progression is not well defined and HR involvement is almost absent.
    Leadership connect is almost absent.
Learning and development through certifications, external training has a very poor budget

    Advice to Management

HR needs to be transformed - at a process level, associate involvement level.
Learning and development unit needs to be given a higher budget

    Pros

Good work - life balance, again that depends on your immediate reporting manager

    Cons

    Poor infrastructure
    No proper career development plan
Revenue targets do not convert into ground level action
Top management only concerned about cutting cost. It is like running an engine without fuel.

    Advice to Management

Do not do macro management especially for infrastructure.

    Pros

    Cons

They recruit educated human beings to put most of them in bench and torture in the name of layoff

    Advice to Management

I worked at Mahindra Satyam full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Decent training for fresh graduates, training is mostly online.
    - Basic pay is still given even though not assigned to a project.

    Cons

    > For an IT company, the internal tools are substandard, and processes are inefficient – eg. Filling in entire month’s timesheet again after project code has been changed. (porting over is not possible!) ,Lack international dialing codes for conferencing outside of India – making it difficult and costly.
    > Support functions (HR and Finance) are based in India, and lack responsiveness and competence. Any requests for support tend to go in circles and takes a long time to get resolved. Not uncommon for requests to be unresolved!
    > Salary increment payments have been delayed over the past two years, annual increment rate is way below market and is not competitive. No Bonuses given.
    > Lack of gender and nationality diversity among employees, especially within the management team. All from India.
    > If sent for travel, expect delays in reimbursement. If sent abroad for expatriation, expect to stay on longer than planned. Employees are often informed about the assignment right at the last minute, and employees are not given enough time for preparation.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to listen to their employees' feedback and take action.
