I have been working at Maimonides Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, great colleagues and short commute. Cultural diversity and serious commitment to ethical practice. Great learning environment with an open perspective on critique and suggestions for improvement.

    Cons

work load which is in part due to new medical practice laws and pushed by insurance companies and Medicaid. The bureaucracy is maddening.

    Advice to Management

work to hire more employees and train administrative staff as well as promote their education.

    Pros

working here was amazing, I personally like fast paced work area because it makes the job more challenging. And not only do you feel good when you get the job done but you also feel good helping out patients.

    Cons

Working in a fast paced work environment is quite challenging, and also in the beginning you do feel kind of lost as to where to find certain things the nurses or doctors asked for.

    Pros

Maimonides Medical Center is a quality place to work. I've had many positive experiences and have enjoyed the opportunity to serve the community.

There are limited opportunities for a union employee to advance past a certain level. Perhaps the institution should consider the career path of the union employee.
