I have been working at Main Street Hub full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

For starters, this is what I'll say -- if you're hard-working, efficient, and seeking opportunities to grow personally and in your career, you'll be very happy here. If you're looking for a more laid-back job where advancement happens naturally as long as you put in the hours, this probably isn't the place for you. MSH promotes the people who work hard for it and go above and beyond, and if that's you, you'll find this company will eagerly invest in you.

-There are plenty of opportunities to learn -- you just have to seek them out. If you want to know more about something, try your hand at something, or talk to someone about a topic that interests you, the answer will almost always be yes. Just ask!
-You will consistently be challenged. There are always stretch opportunities and chances to tackle projects or initiatives for those who are willing.
-You'll have a great support system! If you're a young adult new-ish in your career, you'll find many folks at the same stage of life at MSH, especially in the content department. And every manager I've ever met and worked with here deeply cares about their people, so you'll always have a confidant there.

    Cons

-The workload is heavy. This doesn't necessarily have to be a con -- just an FYI. Be ready to work hard and be focused. Yes, there's time to chat with friends and play a round of ping pong, but if you're looking for a gig where you can take your time throughout the day and work at your own pace, this probably isn't going to be the best fit.
-Change coming from the upper management level happens quickly, but making changes yourself can be arduous. Again, not necessarily a bad thing if an ever-changing environment is your cup of tea. But, yes -- things in your day-to-day will change, and you may have to spend a little time catching up. And, if you see something you want to change, you'll have the opportunity to do so (a pro in my book!), but as the company continues to grow, it might be a long and challenging process to make that change happen.
-Many best practices and technologies are unique to MSH. So, if you're looking for a long-term career in social media, you'll likely to need to supplement what you learn here with additional research. But, like I said above, there are a lot of smart people here who work on various channels with different types of social media experience that will be happy to teach you. And, yes -- you will definitely learn marketable social media skills here, you'll just likely need to do additional learning and research to be truly well-rounded.

    Advice to Management

As you continue to make new and exciting changes, make sure your employees voices are still being heard. Keep investing in them like you do, continue to show them how valued they are and provide opportunities to grow. Just make sure while you're doing all that, you're continuing to listen to how changes are affecting their work and what they'd personally like to see change.

    Pros

Stocked kitchen with great snacks, in a convenient location and they encourage having a beer on Friday afternoons, worked with a great team.

    Cons

After 3 months only a few people from my 15 person hiring class were left. Very competitive environment with the mentality of produce or leave.

    Advice to Management

encourage more realistic role play during training, perhaps with someone who isn't also new to make it a more challenging scenario.... role playing did not equate to the first few customer calls making those much more intimidating!

It was a fun working environment and everyone seemed to get along very well. Didnt make coming to work terrible.

    Cons

Company was headed no where fast. A strong majority of the employees are gone within 6 months and that is not health for growth of a company.

    Pros

Pretty nice office in downtown Austin, has some nice perks (food, barista). All the people in the sales office usually get along pretty well, and are encouraged to keep it light and energetic most of the time. Mid-level management is pretty good, everyone wants to help you succeed.

    Cons

Cold calling is tough, if you aren't cut out for the job then you will probably not succeed. Upper-level management is maybe out of touch. Constantly act like this is the best job for the best company on Earth, and they are doing you a favor by allowing you to work there. There is often not clear channels of communication on what best practices are and how to succeed.

I have been working at Main Street Hub (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very supportive work environment. Great benefits, including covered health, dental, vision and life insurance, coffee prepared by professional barista in-office, lots of free snacks and drinks, free beer in-office, parking is covered, etc. Great pay, including stock options. Fun, engaging projects to work on. All of my coworkers are very smart people and great to work with. Downtown location.

    Cons

No matching funds for retirement. Since it's a small company, it's very dependent on third party software to function, which can be really annoying when said software breaks or doesn't support something critical, which we must then implement ourselves.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work! Do everything you can to maintain the great office culture that you've cultivated. I love working here.

    Pros

MSH is a great place to grow and cut your teeth as as a sales person. In my case it was a great place to hone the ability I had. It's sink or swim. Dan Dennison and Mike Z are awsome. I am MSH!

    Cons

The only con is the stress. Stress also seems to bring the best out in people, so don't waste your time if you are easily flustered. If you are looking to become better and grow, this is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what your doing.

    Pros

great office, TC and MJG are the best in upper management you will find. Free snacks, Beer. Great location. Thats it, truly is. Everyone around you for the most part has bought into the product.

    Cons

Product is majorly flawed. It is cold calling. Calling a business asking for the owner when the majority of the time they are not there. If the owner is there they usually don't have the money to spend 300$ a month thats why they are working at there own business. Expansion has happened so fast good people go unrecognized. Handful of reps will make real money (as in 3-4) the rest is a pipe dream. You won't make money here
