I have been working at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital full-time

    Pros

Great doctors, Great Nurses, Good area.

    Cons

John Ronan is ruining this place. He is a terrible leader. What once was a great place has unfortunately been destroyed. John has no concerns about patient safety and is creating a climate where safety is not important. Nursing and doctor satisfaction is the lowest I have ever seen it.

    Advice to Management

    Fire the current CEO

    Pros

I enjoyed working here! It was such a great environment and the staff were always working hard. The hospital would boost the moral there with their employees and the training offered to keep up with most of your credentials was great!

    Cons

Being an Active Military dependent and having my certifications and licensing out of state, made it very hard for advancement or to receive a higher pay. They wanted a person to be licensed within the state. We are there by demand of the government not by choice. We have to make due with what we have and go off where we were licensed. Receiving a dual license or attempting another certification for something we are already qualified for is redundant and costly. Especially if we are only there for 1-4 years max. At least at the time I was there. 2008-2012

    Pros

The communication between the providers and the staff is wonderful. It is truly a team approach to providing excellent patient care.

    Cons

Administration, as with many hospitals now, was increasingly focused on the bottom line; sometimes to the detriment of the delivery of good patient care.

    Advice to Management

Implement changes with the inclusion of input from all staff levels. Look at the long term consequences on patient care and staff job satisfaction.
