    Pros

Solid work ethic among the team members, company is very supportive in any aspect of increasing revenue. Great supporting staff in operations.

    Cons

Sales team is inconsistent and unaware of the true workings of operations, which makes it very difficult to ensure consistency. Unsure as how to create brand. Extremely top heavy.

    Advice to Management

Set out to establish brand and stick to it. Ensure that the entire organization is knowledgeable. Return to audits to ensure consistent customer experiences.

    Pros

None - everything is deceptive and dishonest.
Won't recommend employment here. You will be sorely disappointed. No growth for American workers

    Cons

    No integrity...
Pay will be chopped if you're too successful!
They will cut sales commission by 66% if you are too financially successful.
Replacing Americans workers with unqualified NZ/AU managers.
    Deceptive upper management

I worked at Mainfreight (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great branding and story which develops a loyalty and team spirit. Branch Managers and executives involved in selling process, to a point. Office shows very well.

    Cons

You get what you ask for from your sales people. Ask them to close one account a week and they will bring you transactional business that closes quickly but has no real impact on the branch numbers.
Belligerent and punitive management style is a huge problem. Shame as it could really be a great company.

    Advice to Management

    respect your employees

    Pros

Meeting some people in the same situation as you. Out of options. I will start the con list here:
Big raises-50 cents. Huge benefits(none). Young management, even 27yo running branches. "Kiwi/aussy" driven company.

    Cons

    Cont..
    Grad program is a joke.
Ask any American what grad means, they will say a graduate level student, aka masters. Had the honor to go a recruitment process at a university. But I was laughing when 34/37 resumes collected were from students in their masters. Over qualified. I saved them the time then and there. Most took back their resume. I worked at Mainfreight full-time

    Pros

    Flexible Hours.
    Clean office.
    Nice team members.
Still growing in the US, possibly can get better over time.

    Cons

There is hardly any career growth unless you are from New Zealand or Australia. It is very rare for a person to get promoted or a position to be created from within the United states offices. It is more likely for Mainfreight to spend the money and time to bring someone in from NZ and AUS, when in fact it would save the company money to hire within the US offices.

New positions are not offered or announced to current team, there has been times where new people have started and the current team had no idea there was an open position, Moral is very low in a lot of departments. There are people in lead positions that don't even know how to write an email or have the training they need to be successful. There are no training programs for employees. The only employees that get training are those in the graduate program. Also, the company only recruits graduates. If you are applying for an entry level position online and don't know someone internally, your resume probably will not be viewed unless you are a young graduate right out of college.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your team, find out what the issues are and come up with a plan to execute, not just talk about it. if their are bad seeds in the team, find out who they are and talk to them. Offer moral boosting programs within the departments.
