I worked at Major Brands full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The industry is fast paced and ever changing, fun atmosphere to be in as long as your team doesn't make you dread work every day. Most people are extremely welcoming and friendly. When they say it is a family environment they are being honest. So if you like the small, tight knit, feel, then it's for you.

    Cons

Being a "family envionrment" means you also disagree like family and at some point it becomes childish and exhausting. If your manager and upper management are rooting for you to grow then it's not a problem. If you don't drink the MB kool aid, then I wish you the best because they'll make your head spin faster than I've ever seen. I interviewed 3 times and LOVED it for the first couple months, a switch hit and over night the management began putting the team against each other, playing favorites, shutting people out, and forcing us to make unethical decisions. I've never felt so anxious walking into a job that someone would have to coach me to just get inside some days.

    Advice to Management

Before you walk into someone's cube or office take a second to reflect on where you've come from and where you've been and let that guide the words coming out of your mouth because I guarantee it may shape the way you manage. For as much as you say you "go to bat" for your employees I don't feel this is true at all... So I would also advise that you may have people stay longer if you practice what you preach? Just a thought.

I worked at Major Brands full-time

    Pros

Consistently challenged (in a positive way) by some of the most amazing professionals I've ever come across throughout my career. Greatly value their love, support and education they offered to all employees - as I said, it's like a family.

    Cons

Very minimal - I only left for furthered growth opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing - you work hard and recognize a job well done by your sales and supportive staff.

    Pros

I did a summer internship with Major Brands and was treated with respect even though it was a temporary role. I learned from a variety of people who were willing to share information with me.

    Cons

I was not employed long enough to witness any cons. At times I felt I was given busy work that needed to be done, but that is part of an internship! Overall great place.

I have been working at Major Brands full-time

    Pros

pay is awesome whether full or part time

    Cons

night management is horrible. If you are a hard worker you get treated like crap but if you are a lazy worker the management is scared to confront you about it and does nothing

    Advice to Management

overhaul the night management and get somebody better in charge

I worked at Major Brands full-time

    Pros

flexibility, fun environment, bonuses, salary, culture, team mentality, high energy

    Cons

once the best distributor, now do not have the people and products they once did. greed at the top and changes in leadership, reduced salaries instead of rising for sales reps, capped pay structure

    Advice to Management

Get back to the values of the family owned company where sales force was compensated by commissions that are uncapped. Too many suppliers to keep happy
