I have been working at Major Brands full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, 0-4 years you receive 16 days PTO. Health insurance you pay a portion. Casual workplace attire, free gym (classes and trainer), flex Fridays (1 to 2 Fridays a month you are off at 2pm), and occasional free booze.

    Cons

No advancement opportunities. The company is not innovative and looking towards the future. Pay is low.

    Advice to Management

Employees need opportunities to grow and better themselves. If not, what else do they have to work towards?

I worked at Major Brands full-time

    Pros

flexibility, fun environment, bonuses, salary, culture, team mentality, high energy

    Cons

once the best distributor, now do not have the people and products they once did. greed at the top and changes in leadership, reduced salaries instead of rising for sales reps, capped pay structure

    Advice to Management

Get back to the values of the family owned company where sales force was compensated by commissions that are uncapped. Too many suppliers to keep happy

    Pros

Lot's of great people and fun industry overall.

    Cons

It seems like a fun job but most positions are very spread out geographically and days are stressful trying to hit all your accounts. You have to work on holidays.

    Pros

Good people to work with. Lot's of autonomy during the day. Traveling around to multiple sites to service accounts.

    Cons

Unloading and shelving large shipments of cases of spirits, wine, and beer. Hard work on the body.

    Advice to Management

Better pay to the Merchandisers, who have the hardest job on the account.

I have been working at Major Brands (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, good people, decent compensation for those with little experience

    Cons

Holiday hours, inconsistent compensation from month to month, and sometimes there is a lack of communication between units within the company that cause more problems that could easily be avoided

    Advice to Management

Positive reinforcement can be more effective than negative reprimands.

I worked at Major Brands full-time

    Pros

Most of my coworkers were kind, helpful, and hard-working.

    Cons

I deleted some aggressive language, no profanity, to adhere to Glassdoor's guidelines. I will save those for a letter to the executive leadership.

    Advice to Management

Advice to executive leadership (St Louis), talk to your people. When Bacardi and Diageo left, you preached family environment. The Kansas City facility is led by fear and intimidation. Go beyond the surface. Ask questions! Follow through! Be professional! Make Major great again!

    Pros

Great people and resources, always making sure everyone is taken care of and providing a hand when needed. Extends great incentives and makes sure everyone is treated fairly.

    Cons

Handling everything within territory, looking for more money, lots to do outside of every day to day job responsibilities

    Advice to Management

    Great people

I have been working at Major Brands full-time

    Pros

This used to be a great place to work.

    Cons

Managers are very inexperienced. HR is of no help on anything. Owner Sue is very out of touch. Lots of secrets at this company. If you want a place of business that does not have drama stat far away from here.

    Advice to Management

Put yourself in the place of the employees. The leadership skills at this company are terrible. A 5 year old has better respect for people.
