I have been working at Major League Baseball full-time

    Pros

I have loved my time with the Marlins, I like the people I work with and the work that I do. Also, It's a dynamic environment that allows for quite a bit of learning along the way. The benefits are sizable, pension (vests in 5 years), full medical coverage, 401K, life insurance.

    Cons

Horribly low pay. It just shows me that they don't appreciate the work we do. Very disappointing to know that your own employer who obviously thinks highly enough to employ you decides to undercut you so severely.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people what they're worth, in the long run it will empower your employees and breed loyalty.

I worked at Major League Baseball (Less than a year)

    Pros

A dream come true for many. Associate reporters (interns) are treated like a regular beat writer alongside the full-time reporter. You report on everything from daily games to massive news such as manager/GM firings, depending on which team you get assigned to. A fantastic experience for those who are lucky enough to be accepted into the program.

    Cons

Pay isn't fantastic. Sometimes you feel a little biased as an employee of the league. But that's hardly a factor -- you do report negative news if the team is performing poorly.

    Advice to Management

As a league that generates millions of dollars in revenue each year, it probably wouldn't hurt to increase pay for the writers/producers you employ.

    Pros

Great benefits, vacation time closed for the holidays.

    Cons

At the end the treat employees not like people but like numbers. They will get rid of you hire a more junior person for cheaper and let the users and business suffer.
