I have been working at Makita full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great culture, strong brand recognition, work life balance, long and proud heritage, Southern California based US Headquaters is not common for a power tool company which is major plus.

    Cons

Antiquated expense reimbursement( must use personal funds to expense common expenses). Company card should be issued to more field and marketing people who commonly must put $1000's of dollars on their own dime and wait a few weeks for reimbursement.
Too many levels of red tape to wade through for simple decisions to be approved.

    Advice to Management

    None at this time.

    I worked at Makita full-time

    Pros

They used to make good tools

    Cons

Low pay, No growth potential and upper management in US is out of touch with current industry, they will steal all your ideas and take credit for anything you have to offer then if they make a mistake they will point thier finger at you and use that to get rid of you, management in japan is also lost, the most turnover i have ever seen with any company

    Advice to Management

    Retire and work at walmart

I worked at Makita full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good teammates and the possibility of learn from them.

    Cons

I worked at makita Argentina; at international purchases, marketing and management assistant. Negligent and arbitrary decisions are made by the management, no goals for workers. No compensations, and 0 zero comunication. Ceo hate Argentine culture and people and dont hesitate in demonstrate it to every worker in the company.
Since the arrival of nagata more than 25 people left the company. I m right now working at the competition.

    Advice to Management

    Make your own conclusions.....

Managers receive no leadership training. Lead by example. Create more harmony within team. Need to create more of a fun culture rather than squeezing people for more
