    Pros

Typical Government Consulting. If your client is good then it's okay.

    Cons

Start a mentor ship program or develop a growth plan. Very stagnant unless you leave the company and return for a raise and promotion.

I have been working at ManTech full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Large company with many contracts

    Cons

Company focus is on new acquisitions and not existing employees. Benefits including PTO, 401K, and training continue to suffer cuts while the corporate leaders boast how well the company is doing, and reward themselves with big bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Remember that the company's successes are directly attributable to the dedication of your employees (or soon to be former employees)

    Pros

Good people to work with, good benefits.

    Cons

BD leadership in flux over the years; revolving door at capture and proposal management leaves much of the institutional knowledge leaving the company. Company feels top-heavy--lots of executives who stay on their building floors and don't interact with the rank and file. Invisible president of company.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on solving the challenges and less on having conversations about the challenges. Hire leaders for BD as opposed to more layers of management. Trim your VP/SVP ranks.

I have been working at ManTech full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great worker-bees - wonderful regular employees.

    Cons

The site management is made up of corporate hacks who drink so much of the Kool-Aid that they don't realize their lips are purple. They play pass interference all day long. They promote other hacks and denigrate seasoned workers who actually deliver for the Government client.

    Advice to Management

Re-tool your management school and start producing managers who understand that they are there to support the workers - not the other way around. The management now is the most disrespectful, argumentative and inflammatory crew I've ever encountered in my 40 year career.

I worked at ManTech (Less than a year)

    Pros

The only thing I can say positive about ManTech is that most of their people are very nice and knowledgeable.

    Cons

It's a sweat shop, far too many Corporate data calls that take precedence over customer deliverables. The Corporate leadership doesn't care about their new employees, i.e., getting them the help they need to actually succeed at MT. Their month-end schedule is so aggressive that you can work up to 70/hrs week just to get by....they treat you like second-class citizens, they are unprofessional and rude during meetings. I wouldn't advise anyone to work in the PCA field there. Their attrition rate for PCAs is astounding.....do yourself a favor and run from any MT PCA job openings.

    Advice to Management

Treat your PCA staff, especially the new ones, with respect. Give them the training to make them succeed instead of fail. Hold upper management (the Corporate staff) accountable for the lack of professionalism and demeaning attitudes.

    Pros

none; Man tech was a nightmare to deal with. The inhumane focus was the bottom line ONLY. Man Tech is a very strange company. They act like a prison working with dangerous criminals. Man Tech has no respect for their employees at all.

    Cons

All cons; I wish I had never experienced this company. These were all the warning signs I should have paid attention to.

    Advice to Management

How can you advise a company that is draconian?
Communication with you is unprofessional or disrespectful.

    Pros

Full time employment, immediate manager was great.

    Cons

Upper management is dishonest and only focused on the near term. Expect your benefits to be cut regularly to help make up for the money lost due to executive incompetence.

    Pros

Great benefits, collegial environment, and communicative superiors

    Cons

It's a defense contractor … the culture may not work well for everyone

    Advice to Management

Cultivate an environment where creativity is rewarded and work is about more than the office. This can mean allowing more flexible work arrangements (flex time, working away from the office sometimes)
