I have been working at Management Development Institute of Singapore full-time

    Pros

there is a shuttle bus service from mrt station to the campus

    Cons

JOIN AT YOUR OWN RISK - HOD is terrible, no leadership skill at all - funny policy (eg. writing report every month to describe how you perform teamwork spirit, more than 5 MC will affect your bonus or increment, tap in & out everyday with face recognition) - probation period for officer or executive level may takes more than 6 months - high turnover - siloed culture and...

I worked at Management Development Institute of Singapore full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Convenient if you are studying part time and working there at the same time. Save travelling time.

    Cons

1-person management. Employee with griviences with supervisor or higher management unable to go to HR as HR cmi. Management likes to twist their decision all the time. Their SOP cmi as you will still be questioned if u follow SOP. 1st time I heard when you tendered, other than HANDOVER list, you need to also write WHAT U DONT HV TO HANDOVER list. Super high turnover, esp HODs!

    Advice to Management

No advice as Management doesn't trust employee...including a LONG TENURE employee.

I worked at Management Development Institute of Singapore full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Cons

-too many to be even listed. management tend to hire foreign workers for cheap labour which resulted in a lot of miscommunication with local staff. -horrible staff welfare, no family/flexi life benefits which other institutes have for their staff -long working hours but no recognition for the hard work you put in -low pay doesn't compensate the long hours done -stubborn management, inflexible to changes and think...

    Advice to Management

Please hire leaders who can do, and not just sit there and shake leg. Treat staff with more respect and improve staff welfare so that employees are more appreciated for the effort they done. Might as well let the government take over seriously, they might do a better job to save this private institution.

I worked at Management Development Institute of Singapore part-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Tenured lecturers are given lots of autonomy and latitude, as long as the Key Performance Indicators are met. Support staff are generally supportive and helpful.

    Cons

High staff turnover with many part-timers out-lasting full timers. As a result, there is a lot of lost knowledge/history of the system and major disconnect between full-timers and part timers.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on profitable growth rather than simply growth at all costs. Be more generous in sharing revenue with lead referrals by lecturers and not just sticking to outdated hourly rates.

    Pros

Willing to hire staff without experience and provide training. Good work/life balance.

    Cons

Dictatorial leadership where management does not trust staff. Blame culture, high staff turnover (average less than 1 year).

    Advice to Management

    Be more caring.
