    Pros

Lenient on certain matters and some employees are positive

    Cons

Abuse of power for those in leadership positions and pay is low.

    Advice to Management

Hire the correct employees and promote people based on their work ethics not to fill a vacant position. Increase the pay

    Pros

    None none at this time

    Cons

Low morale Hateful rank Low pay scale Hires people too inexperienced Force employees to work sick

    Advice to Management

Care more about the welfare of your employees. Corporate is not aware of how absolutely mean their ranking security officers are. If they are aware, they don't care. The building Major is rude and self centered. The lieutenants, all men, are extremely sexist. In today's climate this is not acceptable. Wake up Corporate.

    Pros

Decent pay, enjoyed working with students

    Cons

No advancement opportunities, Very political job in how you say things correctly. Management has changed since I was there, but was difficult to work with.

    Advice to Management

Dont use threatening tac-tics to get Admissions Counselors to get more students into the program. Bonus system is a bust, most people dont get them. Have managers care about their employees.

I have been working at Management & Training Corp. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working schedule works the best for my family life. The overall student are enjoyable to work and help to become productive members of society.

    Cons

Management promises raises and bonus's but doesn't follow through with it. Also, upper management at the facility and possibly higher seems to hold the staff accountable and not the student for mistakes, failure to follow or comply with standards. This is why high employee quitting rate for low pay.

    Advice to Management

Show that you care about your employees, provide what is promised and stop holding staff accountable for student's failures when proper instruction and staff intervention has been done.

I worked at Management & Training Corp. full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good friends and co-workers, clean and efficient units and departments.

    Cons

Administration wages very lower, usually do not respect your California right to take two breaks and 30 minutes breaks. The facility staff is overcrowded of duties that are not part of your job description, the detainees have more respect and rights than the staff. Work under lots of supervisors pressure and deal with sort of staff every day. You do not have time even, to go to restroom, you will not have unemployment because the company do not pay this service, and many more cons impossible to write the long list.

    Advice to Management

To have the same care, staff and safety when the facility do not have the annual jail inspections (Human Rights, Nakamoto,Corporate inspections, etc) Be real BIONIC-Believe or Not I Care- policy.

I have been working at Management & Training Corp. part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

401K, medical, dental, & vision, paid holidays, no weekends, short & long-term disabilities

    Cons

Students need to abide by Zero Tolerance rule. If not, they need to be fined for minor infractions and terminated for major offenses.

    Advice to Management

The Building needs current structural improvements. The whole place needs a facelift spanning from student dormitories to accommodate both genders, food service/cafeteria with nutritional meal plans, increased # of vendor contracts, as well as 21st century office areas & classrooms to enhance student learning. Don't allow Job Corps to have a reputation that only last resort & adjudicated students come. Instead, an alternative to achieve your academic & career goals.
